Description: Hardware Configuration Manager Tracking Code 43805 Job Description Define, direct and coordinate configuration management activities on selected programs. Take a leadership role for configuration management issues on program teams, directly supporting program managers and the Product Release Manager.

KEY OBJECTIVES/ACTIVITIES ? Monitor performance in all areas and shift resources to meet deadlines and published service times. ? Audit groups output and ensure accuracy and completeness. ? Institute process improvements and increase productivity and/or throughput. ? Liaison with outside organizations and proactively determine incoming demands on Release Operation groups. Schedule and predict future workload, interface with customers to keep plan up to date and take appropriate actions to alleviate anticipated shortcomings or negotiate changes to customer schedules ahead of impact. ? Maintain a current master schedule of program gates, determine on a continual basis the current workload of Tech Services including current cycle times, and advise management of anticipated shortfalls and suggested recovery methods. ? Coordinate with regulatory group to anticipate approvals and release products immediately when received. ? Manage interfaces with other functional organizations and ensure that their inputs (e.g. routings, costing, roll-ups) happen in a timely manner and do not hold up releases. ? Responsible for the release of all end item configurations on programs. ? Ensure all Bill of Materials (BOMS) are accurate and within departmental guidelines. ? Work with Program Manager to ensure business plans contain all detailed configuration information. ? Work with Program Management to develop and track target costs. ? Responsible to Program Manager to ensure costing and all material releases are scheduled and completed in accordance with all trigger dates. ? Responsible for ensuring that engineering change requests conform to BOM documentation practices and procedures. Required Skills ? Must have a working knowledge of Documentation Change Control and manufacturing processes. ? Strong PC skills required MS Windows, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases. Strong knowledge of MRP II (SAP) and PDM (Agile) packages. ? Good oral and written communication skills. ? Ability to effectively interface with associates in engineering and program management Required Experience Requires a minimum of 6 years of experience working in a Design, Engineering, or Manufacturing environment, working with computer BOMs, Item Master maintenance and Product Structuring Company Location Holtsville (USNY001) Job Location Holtsville, NY, US.
