Position: Senior Application Developer- Visual C++, OLE, MFC

Position Type: Full Time

Location: Toronto, ON

Position Purpose:

Our client is currently building a team of top-notch software professionals
with an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for innovation. The ideal
candidate for this position is experienced in the security trading industry
and is an expert at object-oriented programming for large scale, complex
systems.

Key Accountabilities:

a.. Work with multiple business groups to understand the requirements and
translate them into technical specifications.
b.. Adhere to consistent software development process and develop
re-usable, efficient, scalable, maintainable, and reliable code.
c.. Work with a team to define the work breakdown structures for the
technical activities associated with the project
d.. Implement and support fault-tolerant, real-time, high throughput, low
latency transaction processing applications in a multi-tier environment.
e.. Architecture analysis and documentation of the software specifications
for both the client-facing and internal server applications.
f.. Design, develop and implement client-facing and internal server
applications using Visual C++ specifications and proven design patterns.
Job Requirements:

a.. 6 - 10 years of design and development experience with C++, C#, OLE
DB, MFC, STL, and Microsoft server technologies
b.. Expert knowledge of advanced low level socket programming (TCP/IP,
multicast, IOCP) and multi-threading.
c.. Expertise in the Software Development Life Cycle
d.. Experience developing real time, high performance, customer facing
applications
e.. Excellent written and oral communication skills
f.. Excellent problem solving and debugging skills
g.. Strong Object Oriented Design and Design Patterns knowledge/experience
h.. Strong project management skills
i.. Ability to work in a fast paced, team oriented environment
j.. Knowledge of SQL Server and other DBMS is an asset
k.. Experience building server side applications from the ground up
l.. Excellent time-management and organizational abilities that facilitate
structured teamwork
m.. Highly developed communication, presentation, facilitation and
negotiation skills
