I think Mojo is definitely based around history. I have 2 guitars with
what I call Mojo. My old 1970's Sakai P Bass and my 1990 Squier Strat.
The P bass has been thru some serious natural relicing. Who ever had it
before me must have gigged with it heaps by the look of it. It plays
well and looks beat up. It just has, well, mojo.....

...I just stuck a set of 7 rated GT EL-34s I had lying around into my
XV-112 instead of the 9's I had in there, just to see - and what a diff!
Nice crispy tone with my Tele on the clean channel with tons of
attack, and a nice bit of the jangles mixed in with the dirt on the
heavy side.
I should have known better as I had pulled out a set of blown out 4s
when I stuck the 9's in - they were all I could get at the time. 7's or
less from now on. I'm sure glad I've hung onto this little beast...

Your challenge: ID this guitar's maker from the headstock -- because
that's the ONLY thing that distinguishes this from a million other
Japanese LP copies. I don't know, it sort of reminds me of a Cortez
(Matsumoku) I had, from the sunburst color and binding, but that's it.
If you know the headstock logo (there is no name), you'll know the
answer. I don't.
If you do, tell me if this guitar is intrinsically more valuable than
any other 70s/80s LP copy. Is it one of those big-bucks ones like a
Tokai, or is it a cheapie like my Cortez?

Have just purchased subject for PC recording and I'm very impressed,
especially with the clean sounds (which my zoom G2 couldn't deliver so
well). I was pretty fond of my zoom so maybe I'll end up using both :-)

Hmmm... definitely this 'un:
1941 Epiphone Zephyr Archtop: I found it in White Plains, NY, when I
was traveling for work.

Any of you guys try one of these new hollow bodies? I've been wanting a
hollow body for some time, but hate the big size of the 335 so I took a
plunge and ordered one of these from MF.
