John gives this away with his "the Word became flesh". Because the
Word was Philo's attempt to fuse Greek and Judaic philosophies. Philo
was born before Jesus was supposed to have lived and died 30 years
after the alleged crucifiction and resurrection.
Philo is important because he was at the heart of events in the area.
He was part of what could be described as Jewish royalty and his
nephew married Herod Agrippa's daughter Berenice. His brother was the
alabarch, the leader of the Jewish community in Alexandria. He also
had connections with the Ptolemies. All this as well as being a
philosopher and a historian.
Who makes no mention of the events of the Gospels.
