I'm so excited! Tomorrow I get this awesome piece of medical
technology. It's a message vest that pulses twenty times a second.
It's to be used for twenty minutes twice a day and causes mucus to
move out of the airways thus maximizing the surface area across which
the oxygen/CO2 exchange can occur. That's called BREATHING! I'm so
excited!
ps tell every one with chronic breathing problems you know that this
exists. I stumbled on it in my research and then demanded it from my
dr. google copd vest

That's awesome Miranda! Will forward this to Swan right away. I sent
you her # and email- she doesn't have long distance. She feels like a
caged bird and can't go outside because of the heat and pollution. -w-

Have You looked into a PowerLung (www.powerlung.com)? They are devices
for training the respiratory muscles. One of the studies that lead to the
development of the devices found that training the respiratory muscles
improved the symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease:
http://www.powerlung.com/us/en/information/studies/weiner2.htm

Another study found it helped reduce the severity of asthma symptoms:
http://www.powerlung.com/us/en/information/studies/weiner.htm

Elsewhere on the site there are studies documenting how using the devices
improves bottom times for SCUBA divers, etc...
