If the gist of all of this is the old adage that the 'buck stops with
the President' - don't you find it more than a little STRANGE that
Hillary Clinton makes this statement in Waco, Texas, where husband
Bill's storm troopers killed and bragged about killing innocent women,
men and children?
Clinton Questions Role of Obama in a Crisis
By KATHARINE Q. SEELYE and JEFF ZELENY
Published: March 1, 2008
WACO, Tex. -- With four days to go before voters in Texas and Ohio
could determine the fate of her presidential bid, Senator Hillary
Rodham Clinton on Friday all but declared Senator Barack Obama
unprepared to serve as commander in chief.
Mrs. Clinton has stopped short of asserting outright that he is not
qualified, lest it come back to haunt her and the Democratic Party.
But she released an advertisement Friday that used the symbolic "red
phone" in the White House to cast doubt on his ability to respond to a
crisis at 3 a.m. And she made a withering speech here in which she
pronounced him "missing in action" when he had a chance to assert
himself on international matters.

Confronted by a well-dressed young man carrying a vacuum cleaner.
"Good morning," said the young man. "If I could take a couple of

Order To Shut Down Wikileaks.org Violates First Amendment
The ACLU and the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) filed a motion
this week to intervene in a lawsuit that led a federal district judge
to order the domain name Wikileaks.org shut down. The motion is on
behalf of organizations and individuals that have accessed and used
documents on the Wikileaks.org website in their work and want to
continue to be able to do so.
The website was established to allow participants to anonymously
disclose documents of public interest, including materials discussing
such issues of national importance as U.S. Army operations at
Guantánamo Bay, human rights abuses in China, and political corruption
in Kenya.
Earlier this month, Judge Jeffrey White of the Northern District of
California ordered domain registrar Dynadot, LLC to shut down the
domain name Wikileaks.org based on allegations that a former employee
of Swiss Bank Julius Baer posted documents on the website that
highlighted the bank's dealings in the Cayman Islands.

RAN's Old Growth campaign is celebrating a major win today in our
struggle for Indigenous land rights!
Last month thousands of RAN supporters called on OfficeMax to stop
selling paper sourced from the traditional territory of the Grassy
Narrows First Nation without their consent.
Yesterday, Boise, the company that supplies paper to OfficeMax,
announced that it "wishes to honor the request of Chief Fobister to
discontinue sourcing fiber from the Traditional Use Area of Grassy
Narrows." You can read the full letter as a PDF.
What this means: Boise's announcement that they will stop purchasing
pulp from Grassy Narrows means that your efforts to pressure OfficeMax
and Grand & Toy worked!

Teen Aggressiveness in the Brain

ScienceNOW Daily News
26 February 2008
Teens who are more likely to argue aggressively and persistently with
their parents also have brain structures of different sizes, a new
study finds. On average, a sassy kid has a larger amygdala, the part
of the brain that processes emotional responses, than a cooperative
one. The findings could help scientists understand the roots of
aggressive behavior in teens.

FBI documents contradict 9/11 Commission report

In other words, according to the only public account, both Al-Mihdhar
and Hazmi were in San Diego, not Los Angeles, contrary to the
Commission's report.
Why did the Commission use an alternate source for the whereabouts of
the two men, when the FBI's own timeline said they were in San Diego
by Jan. 15, the same day as their arrival in the US?
Paul Thompson, author of the The Terror Timeline: Year by Year, Day by
Day, Minute by Minute: A Comprehensive Chronicle of the Road to 9/11--
and America's Response, has been wading through the FBI timeline since
its release. His preliminary analysis can be found at the website of
the History Commons (formerly known as the Center for Cooperative
Research).
Thompson believes that the possible motive for the Commission to alter
the dates is to obscure official Saudi ties to the hijackers.
