From the latest research, we now know what happens - not much due to
negative feedback!!!

Climate Change Confirmed But Global Warming Cancelled

Paleoclimatology Expert Professor Tim Patterson of Carleton University
to chair climate realist non-profit

The Executive Director of the International Climate Science Coalition
(ICSC), Mr. Tom Harris, announces the appointment of Professor Tim
Patterson of Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada as the new Chairman of
the coalition.

"I look forward to working with the ICSC to help promote a more rational
view of global climate change throughout society," said Professor
Patterson. "The hypothesis that human emissions of carbon dioxide are a
significant climate driver is simply that - an hypothesis, one that the
much of today's science is showing to be highly improbable. Natural
factors, such as changes in the brightness of the Sun, are clearly the
major controllers of our planet's climate."

As we approach the birthday of Vladimir Lenin, founder of the Soviet
Union.oops, I meant Earth Day.it's so easy to confuse the two because
they occur, quite by coincidence I'm sure, on the same day.

Anyway April 22 will bring forth an avalanche of the usual accusations
that America is a sinkhole of pollution, et cetera.

We are all supposed to feel guilty or angry or both for living in a
nation that we are told is the largest "consumer" of, well, everything
and, at the same time, a terrible steward of the land and such.

There are two things that environmentalists hate, one is consumption and
the other is the human beings doing it.

The only problem with these accusations is that they are, like virtually
everything environmentalists tell us, wrong.

The Pacific Research Institute (PRI) and the American Enterprise
Institute (AEI) just released the "2008 Index of Leading Environmental
Indicators", an annual report highlighting the significant environmental
developments and milestones in the United States and worldwide.

Why isn't Gore hounding the Olympic torch?

Tibetan protesters aren't the only ones who ought to be dogging the
Olympic torch relay.

When Al Gore received his Nobel Peace prize he said that global warming
is a "moral and spiritual challenge to all of humanity."

Ted Turner recently told PBS' Charlie Rose that if steps aren't taken to
control global warming, "in 30 or 40 years. most of the people will have
died and the rest of us will be cannibals. Civilization will have broken
down. The few people left will be living in a failed state-like Somalia
or Sudan-and living conditions will be intolerable."

And the U.N. deputy high commissioner for human rights says that,
"Global warming and extreme weather conditions may have calamitous
consequences for the human rights of millions of people."

  RECORD BREAKING MISSISSIPPI COLDING

Author: 0BN0Z

It's a treat to freeze your feet in the Mississippi sleet! More evidence
of non-warming via reader Candy A., currently freezing her A off in
Minnesota:

The shipping season on the Upper Mississippi River is officially open
for another year. A tow pushing 15 barges arrived in St. Paul early this
morning, becoming the first to make it through Lake Pepin, which is
still ice-covered in some spots. A 2nd tow that was also pushing 15
barges went through the lock and dam in Red Wing around 5 this morning
on its way to St. Paul.

This is the latest opening of the shipping season on record.

Due to too much ice, which has also delayed Mississippi-borne Iowan dam
structures:

It's way icier than usual:

The average opening date of the navigation season for the last 30 years
has been March 20. In 2007, the first tow to make it to St. Paul was the
MV Cooperative Venture, a tow owned by American River Transportation
Company of St. Louis, on March 29.

Paul Sheehan says some facts should not be hushed up:

Just as Goulburn jail, home to the most violent offenders, is
dominated by Aborigines, Pacific Islanders and Lebanese Muslims, so is
racial hate-mongering in our society disproportionately represented by
these same groups, even as the ideologically tainted human rights
industry obsesses about white racism.

True, and the Sydney Morning Herald's editor demands others be as frank
as this about ethnicity and crime:

Why, for instance, are lockdown drills needed in a Sydney high school?
Clearly an incident of this sort has been expected for some time. The
children at the school had no doubt that most of the alleged attackers
were of Pacific Islander background. Is that a dreadful thing to
acknowledge? Not if it is true, surely. Yet to listen to some youth
workers and education experts speak about the events at Merrylands is to
hear a torrent of the most extraordinary obfuscation, and a reluctance
to acknowledge the reality that local residents live with every day.
There is no point pussyfooting around the issue of ethnicity.

Show us those data and their correlation, please.
Don't forget a significance test. It takes about
three decades to establish a global climate trend.

Therefore the 18 year warming from 1980 to 1998 is NOT A SIGNIFICANT
CLIMATE TREND.

Warmest Regards

  Now That Was A Heatwave!

Now That Was A Heatwave!

In a story on the Adelaide heatwave (ST, 16/3), the Climate Institute's
Edwin Jackson says it's a prediction of more such weather to come.

If that's so, the similar heatwave in 1931 has taken a long time to
arrive. Has Mr Jackson lived in Adelaide for a few summers? I expect
not.

I lived there for 20 years, and experienced the hottest decade of the
20th century: 1931, 1934, 1938 and 1939 were the four hottest years of
that century.

In 1931, we had eight days over 38C, from Christmas Day to New Year's
Day. The maximum temperature was 44.5C.

So nine such days are due to climate change, but eight of the same were
not?

Nonsense!

Adelaide also experiences very hot, dry northerly winds from the desert,
often accompanied by dust. We became accustomed to hot summers.

Edwin Jackson is also concerned about sea levels rising. The maximum
rise in recent years has been 1.5mm; usually the sea level remains
constant.
