Iconoclasm: Clinton attack ad darkens Obama's image

by Shava Nerad
March 05, 2008
http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.jsp?articleId=281474977276266

DailyKOS published an article that's getting a little play today,
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/3/3/14550/75567/858/467989
alleging that the Clinton campaign published an attack ad that
intentionally colorized Obama's skin to darker, reminiscent of TIME
colorizing OJ back in the day.

So, I played with desaturation, which is what the Clinton campaign
said that they used to alter the image -- just a standard video
effect, they said. Below is my image, trying to match the left and
right sides. It very neatly came to -33%% lightness, -33%% saturation.
Those controls are on the same filter control panel, but it sounds
*so* much better to say "We just used saturation/desaturation" than
"We took his face down 33%% for saturation/lightness."

32 Short Thoughts About Ralph Nader

http://www.alternet.org/election08/78500/

By Will Durst, AlterNet

..........s
Ralph Nader. Fervently believes the truth can affect change. Has yet
to learn the American electorate would rather drink unfiltered haggis
juice straight from the tap with their hands tied behind their backs
with live copperhead snakes than confront the truth.
...............s
Ralph Nader. Dramatically intones that if America is to become better,
it first has to get worse. NEWS FLASH. It's worse! We don't want
worser. This is worsest we can stand.

But what if we were to try another tack? How about breaking those
soaring trillions down into smaller pieces, into mere millions and
billions? How much, for instance, does one week of George Bush's wars
cost?

Glad you asked. If we consider the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan
together -- which we might as well do, since we and our children and
grandchildren will be paying for them together into the distant future
-- a conservative single-week estimate comes to $3.5 billion.
Remember, that's per week!

Hillary Clinton Scandals: The scandals are so numerous, start with the major Hillary scandals first....

Author: The Lone Rainbow

Hillary Rodham Clinton, unfortunately, embodies the very worst
elements of a politician.
Read about her career full of lies, deceptions, and alleged criminal
activity. The scandals are so numerous, start with the major
Hillary Scandals: Whitewater - TravelGate - Dubai Port Deal - The
Kaplan Connection
In the late 1970s, the Clintons and McDougals buy land in the Ozarks
with mostly borrowed funds. The Clintons get 50%% interest with no cash
down. The plot, known as Whitewater, is fifty miles from the nearest
grocery store. The Washington Post will report later that some
purchasers of lots, many of them retirees, "put up houses or cabins,
others slept in vans or tents, hoping to be able to live off the
land." HRC writes Jim McDougal, "If Reagonomics works at all,
Whitewater could become the...

Hey hey hey....!
I just got into town, Alamogardo, and got online!

Came down from the mountain(@6000ft) for supplies.Lotsa snow, bears
and mountain lions up there...and amazing beauty, overlooking White
Sands. Nite time very cold but daytime 70 degrees....I got a sunburn!

The stars are fantastic as well as the silence.....amazing healing
silence. The ringing in my ears has almost stopped, but is louder now
that I am back in town.

Ran into an archeologist researching out the Three River petroglyphs,
(same thing I am doing) and I asked him what the "artists" purpose
was. And what he said was astounding.

The petroglyphs (4000 yrs old) are not the language of man, but the
language of the rock, which the artist tapped into!

I am going to find a rock, get quiet, and start drawing, and see what
it has to say!

Peace & Love.....Cassie, still undefining.....

Obama regains ground in Texas caucuses By JIM KUHNHENN and CALVIN
WOODWARD, Associated Press Writers
"Late returns showed Clinton emerged from Rhode Island, Vermont, Texas
and Ohio with a gain of 12 delegates on her rival for the night, with
another dozen yet to be awarded in The Associated Press' count."

I mean, huh? Since when does the Associated Press award deligates?
Sounds like a complete lack of journalistic detachment to me.

Source: Superdelegate Transparency Project on Congresspedia

As part of the ongoing collective research project on Congresspedia to
track the "superdelegates" who may decide the Democratic nominee for
president, our partners at the Huffington Post have enlisted hundreds
of citizens to research some of the more obscure party officials in
the ranks of the superdelegates.

Now we need YOU to help move this information into Congresspedia so
that the public can know just who these people are that may be picking
our next president. It only takes a minute and no experience -
technical or political - is necessary.
