  Bloodthistle?

Author: Peter Knutsen

Bloodthistle gives a small buff to spellcasters, but after you get a
withdrawal that reduces SPI. My question is, does the withdrawal effect
go away if you eat more Bloodthistle right away?

  Professions, Procrastinations

Author: Toby Newman
Date: May 1, 2008 06:00

I have a lvl32 warlock and, thus far, I've only dabbled in tailoring
and not picked up a second profession. I'm wondering: What's the point
in professions? Tailoring takes a lot of tedious shopping for components,
takes up a lot of inventory space, and just seems to generate gold and
clothes, both of which come free by doing quests anyway. The only thing
I've hear you need lots of money for is the mount and I understand that's
cheap as I'm a warlock.

I've as yet found no need for a profession in the first thirty levels.
If professions are required later in the game for some reason, it seems
to make sense to me to leave their development until later, when I'll be
levelled up to such a degree that I can very easily collect whatever is
required. Gathering silk at the moment is hard. When I'm level 60 it will
be much easier. I'll be able to move faster, and be able to kill quicker.

  Outnumbered in BGs

Author: steve.kaye

My Rogue is now half way through level 69 and has run out of rest
experience. She also hasn't been in a BG since level 49 so she's out
of practice. These two combined prompted me to join a few games last
night. I pick up the WSG daily and join the AV, AB and WSG queues.

First up is AB. I hit the button immediatley. When I join Alliance
have 4 bases and we have 0. They are on about 500 resources at this
point. We fight to the end and pull back but it's not enough to help
and we lose. People in chat are saying that we lost because we were
outnumbered at the start.

Second go and AB is up first again. I hit the button straight away
again. Alliance have 3 bases and we have 0. They are on about 100
resources so the game has not been going very long. We fight back to
win.

My question is why does this happen? It is a problem that I've
experienced before on my Priest and my Druid. Our side - Horde on
Misery - are always slow to join and have 50%% fewer players for
several minutes after the start of the game. In both of those
examples I joined as soon as I was given the chance and the game was
already in progress.

  You no take mana cell

Author: lcpltom
Date: May 1, 2008 04:48

The other night I flew up to Blade's Edge to do the SSO daily there.
I picked a spot that seemed to have no other players in the area. I
had gotten lucky on a previous day and got 2 phasing devices, so I was
able to instantly phase.

I phase and get attacked instantly by a worm. No big deal. I see a
NE rogue also fighting a worm, but he seems to be heading a different
direction than I was planning to go.

So I pull the next worm from next to a mana cell. While I am fighting
the worm, the NE unstealths and takes the cell, then stealths again.
Next pull, same thing. I'm not itching for a PvP fight, and I know as
soon as he has 10, he's going to stab me in the back, so I' not going
to help him. Mounted and flew to another spot.

Being already phased I was able to pick a spot free of other phased
players. I land, kill a few mobs, grab a few cells, when an orc
hunter comes in and starts doing the exact same thing the NE did. I
stopped, mounted, flew up just a little bit, waited for him to pull a
worm, then landed and did what he did to me. After that he left the
area, leaving me to gather cells in peace.

some some questions abbout play WOW.

I admit I am a nebbish new member that does not understand the jargon
used in this newsgroup.

1. my first question is how do mining and blacksmithing work in the
later life of my character. she is a 20 level paladin and she is
making steady if unremarkable progress in both mining and blacksmithing.

2. how common are the level one disenchant objects? I have seen
exactly 4 in all my play.

3. are the characters that transfer to kalimor dropped from guilds?
maybe I just dont interact enough with the guild.

4. what good is creating shot if my character cannot use it or
sell it. :(

  Older version of Auctioneer

Author: Peter Knutsen
Date: May 1, 2008 00:52

I installed the new Auctioneer last month, after not having played for
half year or so, but it is really annoying. One of the things it does
wrong is that if I start selling multiple stacks of the same item in the
same session, e.g. copper ore, then it starts setting the price lower
and lower, which is stupid.

Is there a functional older version of Auctioneer, that does not have
this behaviour? All I really need is something to keep track of typical
AH prices so that I can know what to tell for, and the older version of
Auctioneer, which I used in part of 2006 and all of 2007 (those months
when I subscribed, anyway) did a fine job, but this new and "improved"
multi-feature one just sucks.

  Dead server economy?

Author: Peter Knutsen
Date: May 1, 2008 00:50

One of the two servers I play on is an RP+PVP server, where I play on
the Horde side, and the player-economy is just dead.

Not in the sense that goods are available only at inflated prices, but
rather that goods aren't available at all. I've been trying and trying
to get a 20-slot herb bag, but no such luck. They aren't in the AH, and
asking about them in the Trade channel gets no replies.

Truly painful.
