Wasn't Halo 2 delayed nearly a 1 1/2 at one point?

The thing is, they don't seem to know the meaning of "overrated". For
example, was Microsoft Bob OVERrated? Was it ever popular?

  Official: Namco goes multiplatform

Tekken and Soul Calibur online? Namco goes multiplatform.

http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=4551&Itemid=2
NamcoBandai's director of business development Zach Karlsson tells
Next-Gen about the company's plans for creating new IP, and for
moving current IP across more platforms. Looks like Hellgate: London
(pictured) is Xbox 360 bound, for one thing....

Karlsson told Next-Gen, "I'm the director of business development. My
job is really to oversee strategy and new business. On of the areas
I'm looking to focus on is both multiplayer and online gaming. With
the convergence of platforms into the online and PC space we're
really looking to start driving into that arena."

He adds, "Online is a very big console characteristic now so we're
really looking at what multi-player games we bring to the space as
well. With the Xbox360 and the ease of portability between the PC and
Xbox 360 as well as the platform of the PS3, it really makes sense for
us to really look at online as a platform rather than looking at
individual consoles by themselves, in a bubble."

  Can the PS3 be saved?

Author: TheGame

http://www.joystiq.com/2007/01/18/can-the-ps3-be-saved/
It doesn't take a Phoenix Wright wannabe to observe popular PS3
disdain, its launch mishaps, and concern with early system surpluses.
Some have gone as far to call the system a "total disaster" in need of
a "do over." In light of its lackluster start, GigaGamez offers a few
recommendations for improvement. In summary:

1. Off with their heads! Even though Kutaragi and other top executives
have made Sony a lot of money over the years, the company needs to cut
'em loose for a fresh start. Only then will its PR improve.

2. How about some games? The article wisely states: "No matter what
could have happened up to the point when the console launched, as soon
as the first really great game comes out, all is forgiven." True,
assuming its criticized high price reaches mass equilibrium.

3. Make the system easier to develop for. To ensure #2 happens, Sony
needs to focus on helping developers leverage the Cell processor. And
though we make fun of its over-hyped marketing, one Business 2.0 writer
believes the Cell can, in fact, do things the 360 is incapable of, if
only developers knew how to use it.

MI5 Persecution: Toronto Freenet supports free speech (4319)

Author: MI5Victim
Date: Jan 18, 2007 19:08

Despite an orchestrated campaign of attempted censorship by UK-resident newsgroup readers, TFN did not bow
to demands for a suppression of freedom of speech. TFN general policy on the matter is as follows;

Draft Policy on Account Deactivations due to News Group Postings
================================================================

News group postings occasionally take the form of a message which goes against the "topic" of the conference.
For example, a derogatory message about Canadians in the soc.culture.canada.

Members of such news groups then may send a message to the system administrators asking that a user's account
be terminated because of such posting.

The Toronto Free-Net Board of Directors has taken the position that the only postings that will get a person's
account terminated is material that is illegal under Canadian law. Otherwise, the Toronto Free-Net will not
take any action.

Freenet Executive Director Mike Anderson had this to say regarding the continued attempts of a minority of usenet
participants to have my account on his system deactivated;

The TFN's policy is not to take action against members unless they contravene the Criminal Code of Canada, or
engage in practices such as forgery, attacks against other computer systems or mailbombing.

Mr. Corley, while possibly being very annoying, has not contravened the TFN's policies. The TFN believes strongly
in freedom of expression, while recognizing that the price for such freedom may be a high signal-to-noise ratio in Usenet.

Yes they are everywhere now, even in Japan they're sitting on shelves
just waiting for buyers:

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/755/755530p1.html

Kind of funny when you think about Sony saying: "we could sell 5
million even without games" yet there are only 2 million PS3's shipped
now WITH GAMES and they are not even close to being sold out. Sony
just loves to kill its reputation time and time again.

Their next move will be to release some games for the thing. Then
console sales will take care of itself.

It's funny... Sony doesn't encounter the same production problems as
the 360, enabling many more PS3s to get to market and avoid a
post-holiday shortage, and somehow this is a bad thing for Sony?
