Where to buy basic stemware?

I am thinking of having a first tasting party and need about 80-100
bordeaux glasses. I'd prefer to buy them instead of renting. And I'd
like to buy some semi decent, under $10 each. (I'd prefer to spend
much less!)

Anyone have any sources?

Searches on the web have only found me sets of 6 for $50...and I think
I should get a discount for as many as I'm buying, but haven't found
anything like that yet.

Thanks!
Jerry

Cost Plus has some deals in basic stemware - they even have some at
around $1.50/stem, but they are a little delicate. They have several
styles under $10

Assuming that by Bordeaux glasses, you mean the oversized 8" x 3" type,
your choices will be limited. Spiegelau offers some of the better
priced glasses, and Google shows that BeverageFactory.com (a firm I've
never heard of but which has plenty of customer feedback) is selling
6-packs of Spiegelau Festival Bordeaux glasses for $38 ($6.35 per stem).
For the quantities you want, you might be able to get a better price.

Good size and you won't wince when you hear the inevitable crash.

Depends what you mean. As you know, the "taster" glasses are no longer made.
The IKEA "Bordeaux" glasses are of low quality, they break very easily, they
are not a good deal.
