Myanmar's behavior in the wake of Cyclone Nargis has been totally
disgraceful! I wonder how many additional deaths there have been and
will be because of their government's intransigence? :-(

It is almost hard to believe any government behaving in this way to it's
people. The death toll if aid isn't distributed will be terrible. It is
heartbreaking.

Not only that, there is a referendum scheduled for tomorrow which will
give the military even more power and it hasn't been canceled. People
not in the area decimated by the cyclone will still vote. The fact
that half the country can't vote doesn't matter.
thousands more will die because the government has no way to get aid
to them even if the aid comes in. We need to drop aid and they won't
let us. I still don't see why we just don't do it anyway.

Very bad situation, which can't be looked upon in a positive light by
any other country. (I did later see your post on this, Dalin.) ...
