BECAUSE I am editor pro tem of the June Challenge.
because every magazine has several deadlines - for advertising,
editorial, production - and the very last drop-dead deadline is often
two weeks after closing the book for adverts. It's cutting a fine line,
but when an editor has reliable writers who deliver the goods, he/she
can get away with pushing the edge of the envelope.
Good grief - a chance to edit/revise and possibly win (which in my
corner of the freelance world means getting into print) and you're
vetching???
Other AFO-ers are enjoying themselves with the June Challenge. They've
dug out old 'scripts, dusting them off (perhaps literally) and they're
subbing, which is great.
Brownie points for anyone who tries again and again, whatever that
entails: it means they're willing to step up to the plate and try to
knock one out of the park.
