Here's something I tried:

Through the exit, by the tree, and down the path.
Step by step, she seeks her savior.
Step by step, she doesn't look back.
Seeing clearly, she discarded her glasses
For _her_ first good look at her love.

If you don't mind calling that a stanza, feel free to contribute more.
Or do something else entirely. Whatever.
