Hillary takes WV by over 2/3...Olbermann apoplectic, Buchanan says, "Hillary can WIN!"

Author: DeserTBoB

You just have to love her...clobbering Obama like that in a contest
that his campaign said he'd lose by maybe 10 points....and that he's
losing now by almost 40. You also have to take a good look at who's
feeding Keith Olbermann his marching orders and talking points...he is
positively INCENSED that Hillary is not cowing to Obama! Must've been
all those black athletes he likes so much. Russert, OTOH, is more
circumspect..."ANYTHING could happen, and it usually does!", words
that visibly tweaked Olbermann, who seems to want to project the Jeff
Immelt-down party line..."shill Obama so McCain can beat him."
Meanwhile Terry McAuliffe elicited a sheepish grin and a couple of
trademark "HAA!"s from Chrissy Matthews, because he wouldn't cave to
Matthew's "she's gonna lose this, right?" questions...

Ron Paul's forces quietly plot GOP convention revolt against McCain

Virtually all the nation's political attention in recent weeks has
focused on the compelling state-by-state presidential nomination
struggle between two Democrats and the potential for party-splitting
strife over there.

But in the meantime, quietly, largely under the radar of most people,
the forces of Rep. Ron Paul have been organizing across the country to
stage an embarrassing public revolt against Sen. John McCain when
Republicans gather for their national convention in Minnesota at the
beginning of September.

Land that I love. A Cobb County bar is selling T-shirts that appear to
portray Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama as the monkey
Curious George, peeling a banana with "Obama in '08" underneath.

Immigration raid at a kosher meatpacking plant largest ever in US

Immigration raid in Iowa largest ever in US

By HENRY C. JACKSON, Associated Press Writer

DES MOINES, Iowa - A federal immigration raid at a kosher meatpacking plant
in northeast Iowa was the largest such operation in U.S. history, with
nearly 400 people arrested, federal officials said Tuesday.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials said at least 390 people were
arrested on immigration charges as part of a raid Monday morning at
Agriprocessors Inc. in Postville. The plant had about 900 workers before the
raid.

Most of the 314 men and 76 women arrested are from Guatemala and Mexico, but
some were from Ukraine and Israel.

"Based on the number of ... arrests, this is the largest single site
operation of its kind ever in the United States," said ICE spokesman Tim
Counts.

The raid followed a months-long investigation into Agriprocessors, the
largest kosher slaughterhouse in the world.

ICE officials would not comment on whether company officials could face
criminal charges. Telephone messages left with Agriprocessors on Tuesday
were not returned.

I remember when Republicans had actual substance to put forward in their
posts instead of just a bunch of transparent, weak, provocation.

The GOP needs a RON PAUL REVOLUTION!

Rove refuses call to testify under oath

A House Judiciary Committee deadline passed Monday with former White
House adviser Karl Rove standing by his refusal to testify about
allegations that he pushed the Justice Department to prosecute former
Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman.

In his latest offer to settle the matter, Rove sent the panel a letter
offering to respond to questions in writing, according to his
attorney. But he reiterated that he would not testify publicly and
under oath.

Committee leaders did not immediately answer questions about how they
will respond. Earlier this month, they threatened to subpoena Rove if
he did not agree to appear voluntarily by Monday.

Questions about Barack Obama's inability to win over white,
working-class voters were raised again tonight when Hillary Clinton
won a landslide victory in West Virginia, one of the last contests of
a prolonged primary season.

Exit polls indicated she had won the state easily, by a margin of two
to one. In spite of her win, she is too far behind Obama in terms of
delegates - who will decide the Democratic nomination - to catch him.
