gallons of renewable fuels to be included in the fuel supply by 2022
and will increase that to at least 60 billion gallons of advanced
biofuels like cellulosic ethanol by 2030." From Barack Obama's own
mouth - "I've fought successfully in the Senate to increase our
investment in renewable fuels."

Barack Obama is king of the biofuel criminals, and his ideas are even
worse than Bush's plan. Obama wants twice as much biofuel as Bush!
Obama, like Mao and Pol Pot, has insane agricultural ideas that will
starve millions. Obama needs a straight jacket, not a ticket to the
White House.

A common smoker refrain is that they're going to die from something,
so they may as well pick a bad habit they enjoy. Brilliant, folks,
just brilliant. They can't understand that dying from cancer or heart
disease decades prematurely, or (if they're lucky) spending the last
third of their life wracked by poor health isn't exactly enjoyable. Or
if they can understand it, they choose not to care.

Strong parallels can be drawn to anti-environmental thinking. Minimal
concern for one's own future mirrors indifference to the fate of the
entire Earth. Smoker-types think global warming and other effects of
man-made pollutants aren't worth a minute of worry because "Hey, it's
got a Hemi in it! Evidence, who cares about evidence? Take another
filterless drag. Sumptin's gotta killya, John Boy!"

How do people end up with such a reckless, dumbed-down approach to
life? What makes them get belligerent when simply asked to respect
nature and their own future? My best theory is that it's a combination
of addictive personalities, fatalism, hedonism, low I.Q., intellectual
cowardice and being a rebel without a cause (the reason so many people
buy Harleys). "Heard it on Rush so it must be true. Why think when you
can just party on?!"

It would be impossible to imagine a more vague campaign than Mr. Obama
has run. I guess he is relying on the stupidity of the American people
and the fixed media not to ask him what he will change, how he will do
and what it will cost. Could we be in the midst of experiencing the
death of democracy?

Developing countries eye nuclear power: report

More than 40 developing countries have recently approached United
Nations officials to express interest in starting nuclear power
programs, the Washington Post reported on Monday.

The interest among developing countries ranging from the Gulf to Latin
America is a concern to proliferation experts, who say it could provide
the building blocks for nuclear arsenals in some of the countries, the
Post said.

The newspaper said much of the interest in nuclear power is driven by
economic considerations including the high cost of fossil fuels.

However, some Middle Eastern countries with access to large stocks of
oil or natural gas, such as Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab
Emirates, appear to be investing in nuclear power partly because of
concerns about a future regional arms race, the Post said.
