It looks like Dubya's now-infamous (and proven) golf lie has veterans
up in arms, as well as the rest of the country. Olbermann on MSNBC,
for all his faults (mostly his rapacious shilling for Obama) has kept
the "golf lie" in the spotlight two days running now, complete with
verification that a scant two months after he said he'd given up
playing golf to be "in solidarity with our troops", he was captured by
CBS News doing what? Playing golf...again. The story is gaining
incredible traction. Who's getting hurt the most? McCain. Everyone
in Washington (hell, the entire nation) considers Dubya to be pretty
much irrelevant now. Watch Congress kick his ass if he dares veto
that bill to eliminate the oil reserve refilling scam he's been
getting away with since he took office in 2001.

If he'll lie to the press so forthrightly about this, what else has he
been lying about, righttards? How about Iraq? How about FEMA? How
about EVERYTHING?

Now that President Cheney is leaving office, what's he gonna do with his
free time? And will he be keeping his pet chimp?

Mental health workers blast CPS for separating polygamist families

SAN ANTONIO – Removing children from a polygamist sect's West Texas
ranch was unnecessary and traumatizing, several mental health workers
sent to aid the families wrote.

Marie, 32, who lived at the ranch with her three boys, told of her 11-
day stay in a San Angelo shelter.

In a set of unsigned written reports, workers with Hill Country
Community Mental Health-Mental Retardation Center said that the Child
Protective Services investigation of suspected child abuse and its
decision to ask for state custody of all 464 children punished mothers
who appeared to be good parents of healthy, emotionally normal kids,
the San Antonio Express-News reported.

"The mothers are incredibly loving and patient with the children. The
children were well-socialized and well-behaved and interacted
willingly and happily with us," one wrote.

Is the US government, and the British government telling the public a

Oddly, as the feds tell us "everything is ok, don't worry, we have it
all under control. go about your daily lives and forget about what we
are doing because you don't need to know", the headlines like the one
below indicate something different. Looks like the feds don't have
full control over the media yet.

A friend in the UK says the government there is downplaying the
economic situation. He says they are acting as if everything is just
fine. But, it is not just find. If it were, why would so many banks
need a handout to stay solvent?

GENEVA (Reuters) - Obesity contributes to global warming, too.

Obese and overweight people require more fuel to transport them and the
food they eat, and the problem will worsen as the population literally
swells in size, a team at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical
Medicine says.

This adds to food shortages and higher energy prices, the school's
researchers Phil Edwards and Ian Roberts wrote in the journal Lancet on
Friday.

"We are all becoming heavier and it is a global responsibility," Edwards
said in a telephone interview. "Obesity is a key part of the big picture."

At least 400 million adults worldwide are obese. The World Health
Organization (WHO) projects by 2015, 2.3 billion adults will be
overweight and more than 700 million will be obese.
