It is time for someone to drop the “N-bomb” on Jeremiah Wright:

Nut. The guy is whacked out of his mind.

Crazy. Unhinged. Certifiable. One step away from roaming Boston
Common, pushing a shopping cart and muttering about the Mother Ship.

A sane person, given three days of high-profile media opportunities,
would spend them trying to convince voters that his pal, Sen. Barack
Obama, is a good guy who can be trusted, in part because you’re not
such a bad guy yourself.

But the Rev. Wright, given that very opportunity, spent 72 hours
reaffirming on national television that America is a terrorist nation,
Israel is an apartheid state, and AIDS is the result of a government
conspiracy.

If the Rev. Wright is capable of rational thought, it is not,
apparently, while in the presence of a microphone.

Antonin Scalia was on “60 Minutes” last night. Scaly always reminds me
of Benito Mussolini, and it isn’t just that he has an Italian
background. He swaggers, he smirks, he’s charming, he’s intelligent,
and he’s a vicious clown. Just like Benito.

But Leslie Stahl, the presenter who interviewed him, isn’t the sort to
get a case of the vapors when confronted with Il Duce Vito, and she

Texas child welfare officials say that more than half the teen girls — 31 of
the 53 under the age of 18 — swept into state custody from a polygamist sect’s
ranch already have children or are pregnant.

While many of the children’s mothers and court-appointed lawyers kept up a
barrage of criticism of the state’s removal of 463 children from their families,
Child Protective Services officials countered today with the most detailed
information to date on how many young girls at the ranch have been pregnant.

“Thirty one of 53 girls between 14 and 17 have children, are pregnant or both,”
CPS spokesman Patrick Crimmins said.

Asked if the pregnancy rate justified a raid at the Yearning for Zion ranch in
Eldorado 3 ½ weeks ago, Mr. Crimmins recited CPS officials’ testimony at a
two-day hearing in San Angelo earlier this month.

“There was a pervasive belief that children having children was what they were
supposed to do,” he said.

The Rev. Jeremiah Wright went to Washington on Monday not to praise
Barack Obama, but to bury him.

Smiling, cracking corny jokes, mugging it up for the big-time news
media — this reverend is never going away. He’s found himself a
national platform, and he’s loving it.

It’s a twofer. Feeling dissed by Senator Obama, Mr. Wright gets
revenge on his former follower while bathed in a spotlight brighter
than any he could ever have imagined. He’s living a narcissist’s
dream. At long last, his 15 minutes have arrived.

So there he was lecturing an audience at the National Press Club about
everything from the black slave experience to the differences in
sentencing for possession of crack and powdered cocaine.

I guarantee you half of the people on these newsgroups will be Uber-
users. This is a new world of media we're living in.
