The collapse began a couple months back when he said he supported the
official explanation of 911 put out by Bush and the other 911 Liars.
He should have joined the 911 Truth side where most americans are. Yes, it
would have been controversial, at least with the press, but controversey
would have helped him become better known to the american people. Instead
he exposed himself as just another corrupt lying politician.

Dem. wins election to fill Hastert seat
By DEANNA BELLANDI, Associated Press Writer
CHICAGO - A longtime Republican district fell to the Democrats
Saturday when a wealthy businessman and scientist snatched former
House Speaker Dennis Hastert's congressional seat in a closely watched
special election.
Democrat Bill Foster won 52 percent of the vote compared to 48 percent
for Republican Jim Oberweis. With 565 of 568 precincts reporting,
Foster had 51,140 votes to Oberweis' 46,270.
"Tonight our voices are echoing across the country and Washington will
hear us loud and clear, it's time for a change," Foster told cheering
supporters Saturday evening.
Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Chris Van Hollen
said Foster's win is a rebuke of the Bush administration and of the
GOP's apparent presidential nominee, John McCain, who campaigned for
Oberweis.
"This is going to send a political shock wave across the country in
this election year," Van Hollen said.

Ad to challenge Gore's planet-saving image
March 8, 2008
He has a mighty big carbon footprint.
Al Gore's opulent lifestyle and his virtuous plea to save the planet
from global warming don't mesh, according to the Competitive
Enterprise Institute (CEI), which announced plans yesterday for a new
national advertising campaign to showcase the contrast before the
American public.
It comes at an unsure time for the former vice president, whose
climate efforts have netted both an Oscar and Nobel Prize in the last
year. Mr. Gore's finances were questioned this week by Business Week,
Bloomberg and others, citing his recent $35 million hedge fund
investment and a public investment offering for his cable network
Current TV -- which could yield a potential $50 million profit.
Yet his name is also being bandied about in some Democratic and
progressive circles for a presidential "dream team" ticket pairing him
with Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois.

Bill Clinton profits from company tied to felon, China
March 7, 2008
The spring before his wife began her White House campaign, former
President Bill Clinton earned $700,000 for his foundation by selling
stock that he had been given from an Internet search company that was
co-founded by a convicted felon and backed by the Chinese government,
public records show.
Mr. Clinton had gotten the nonpublicly traded stock from Accoona Corp.
back in 2004 as a gift for giving a speech at a company event. He
landed the windfall by selling the 200,000 shares to an undisclosed
buyer in May 2006, commanding $3.50 a share at a time when the company
was reporting millions of dollars of losses, according to interviews.
A spokesman for the William J. Clinton Foundation declined to identify
the buyer who was willing to pay so much for a struggling company's
stock, saying only that the transaction was handled by a securities
broker. It occurred seven months before Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton
announced her bid to run for the 2008 Democratic presidential
nomination.

The Daily Show Flashback: John McCain and Jon Stewart's heated debate over
Iraq and patriotism
Stewart and McCain got into a brawl in this segment.Do you think any of the
talking heads would have this kind of debate with McCain? Check out the
second half of the interview around the six minute mark for the fireworks to
begin.
Stewart tries to explain a few things to St. McCain about fighting a civil
war.
".but that assumes that we're fighting one enemy-they're fighting each
other. We're not surrendering to an enemy that has defeated us. We're
saying, how do you quell a civil war when it's not your country?"
McCain got very angry that Stewart called them out for using the " you're
not supporting the troops," theme and was trying to filibuster the
segment. He tried to use the troops as a wedge. Stewart got hot and fought
back.McCain started to stutter. (rough transcript)
Stewart: When they say the talking point of "they'll follow us home,"-they're
trying to follow us home whether we're in Iraq or not.

Both Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer have issued statements calling Bush's veto
"deeply misguided" and that "the world must know that American doesn't
torture." But a letter to Bush from 30 retired military admirals and
generals says it all:
We believe it is vital to the safety of our men and women in uniform that
the United States not sanction the use of interrogation methods it would
find unacceptable if inflicted by the enemy against captured Americans. The
current situation, in which the military operates under one set of
interrogation rules that are public and the CIA operates under a separate,
secret set of rules, is unwise and impractical. What sets us apart from our
enemies in this fight.is how we behave. In everything we do, we must observe
the standards and values that dictate that we treat noncombatants and
detainees with dignity and respect.
So the question is, will George W. Bush listen to the generals?
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2007/12/13/military-leaders-ignore-_n_76656.html
On the one hand, Bush refuses to confirm that America uses waterboarding,
and then now, on the othe hand, he vetoes a bill which prohibits it. Which
is it Dubya? If we don't waterboard, why veto a bill which outlaws something
we don't do?

Democrat grabs HastertÂ’s House seat
Longtime GOP congressional district changes hands in Illinois
CHICAGO -
Democrat Bill Foster has snatched former House Speaker Dennis
Hastert's congressional seat in a closely watched special election
that gave the longtime Republican district to the Democrats.
Foster has won 52 percent of the vote compared to 48 percent for
Republican Jim Oberweis with 556 of 568 precincts reporting.
Foster's special election win means he will fill the remainder of
Hastert's term until it ends next January.
The 66-year-old Hastert, who lost his powerful post as speaker when
Democrats took control of Congress, resigned late last year.
