Hopes for Wireless Cities Fade as Internet Providers Pull Out

By IAN URBINA
Published: March 22, 2008

PHILADELPHIA - It was hailed as Internet for
the masses when Philadelphia officials
announced plans in 2005 to erect the largest
municipal Wi-Fi grid in the country, stretching
wireless access over 135 square miles with
the hope of bringing free or low-cost service
to all residents, especially the poor.

Municipal officials in Chicago, Houston,
San Francisco and 10 other major cities,
as well as dozens of smaller towns, quickly
said they would match Philadelphia

Obama Aide: Bill Clinton Like McCarthy

SALEM, Ore. (AP) - A retired Air Force general compared former
President Clinton to Joseph McCarthy, the 1950s communist-hunting
senator, on Friday after Clinton seemed to question Democrat Barack
Obama's patriotism.

Merrill "Tony" McPeak, a former chief of staff of the Air Force and
currently a co-chair of Obama's presidential campaign, said he was
disappointed by comments Clinton made while campaigning for his
wife, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, in a speech Friday in Charlotte,
N.C.

BJ puts his big foot in his mouth again.

To modern libs, McCarthy is probably the most hated American in
the last hundred years, perhaps of all time. For as far back as I can
recall, libs have reserved comparisons with McCarthy to despised
Repubs. But now they're using them against fellow Dems. Delicious!

"In defense of LAMBASTED Dr. Laura" Error 404

"but she has 12 years of private practice, which is much more
experience in human relationships than the bloggers and their
commenters have!"

12 years... so says a habitual liar.
Maybe 12 years until the MFCC lasped from lack of use.

There are many professionals who comment and blog.
[] [] []

The following is a repeated fake "letter" blog that comes up in a
google search.
This version is what Laura Schlessinger wants you to repeat.
Poor Schlessinger was "LAMBASTED" after her "INFAMOUS"
"QUALIFICATIONS"

The "QUALIFICATIONS" section is pathetic.
If she used the MFCC for twelve years, wouldn't she have progressed?
Or at least kept her only credential active?
As a radio act, no need to keep up legitimate credentials. All she had
to do was repeat the lies.
Fraud.

Financial market turmoil raises worries - Greenspan wrote this week that "the current financial crisis in the U.S. is likely to be judged as the most wrenching" since the end of World War II.

Financial market turmoil raises worries

By MARTIN CRUTSINGER, AP Economics Writer Fri Mar 21, 4:48 PM ET

WASHINGTON - It's been almost an article of faith: Any recession this year
will be mild and brief.

But now the stunning meltdown of a top Wall Street investment bank and
stubbornly persistent financial market turbulence has called that into
question, raising fears that severe problems in housing and the nation's
bedrock financial system could cripple the economy and wallop many millions
of Americans.

No less an authority than former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan
wrote this week that "the current financial crisis in the U.S. is likely to
be judged as the most wrenching" since the end of World War II.

Other noted economists are also sounding alarms. Harvard professor Martin
Feldstein, the former head of the National Bureau of Economic Research, said
recently he believes the country is now in a recession and it could be a
severe one.

Western wars are nearly always horrible bombing wars on darker skinned people in Asia: Over 28000 Afghans and Iraqis bombed to death in 80 days

Author: m9mckinley

19 March 2003, clearly a day of eternal infamy in US history.
5 Years ago Bush and Cheney started a second
brutal and disastrous neo-colonial war in Asia,

The unbelievable carnage by bombing in Asia (Afghanistan
and Iraq) by American/European neo-colonial powers is never
analyzed and never even mentioned, we know why.

The main objectives in Bush's illegal, immoral and super-lethal
bombing wars 10,000 miles away in Asia (still) are:

1. Middle Eastern oil and gas - profits and more global power
Even Greenspan acknowledged it's all about oil, power and profits:
http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/JB16Ak05.html
(war on Iraq)

2. Caspian Region oil and gas - profits and more global power
(war on Afghanistan, resources in Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan)

3. African-Sudan/Chad/Somalia/Chad oil and gas - profits and more
global power (Bush just visited Africa, we know why, Africom is less
than a year old and must still build military bases in Africa)
(war on Somalia, Chad and more)

Think of the press as a great keyboard on which the government can
play...

"America's Afghan president designate, the telegenic, impotent,
chappan-clad Hamid Karzai sits at the helm of a government rife with
narco-lords, collaborators and war criminals, and sanctioned by the
U.S. notwithstanding the fact that it represents the most corrupt in
Afghan history. In the rural mountain and village hamlets of
Afghanistan foreign soldiers whose stated mantra is to "kill
terrorists" and who remain blithely ignorant of traditional and
cultural Afghan values continue to terrorize and kill innocents in
their pursuit of suspected Taliban."

Chris Wallace to Fox hosts: Two hours of Obama-bashing is enough
David Edwards and Mike Sheehan

Veteran journalist Chris Wallace admonished Fox & Friends over their
characterization of a comment in which Obama referred to his
grandmother as a "typical white person."

"I love you guys, but I want to take you to task if I may respectfully
for a moment," Wallace began. "I have been watching the show..., and
it seems to me that two hours of Obama-bashing on this 'typical white
person' remark is somewhat excessive, and frankly, I think you're
somewhat distorting what Obama had to say."

As the F&F hosts began grinning and shifting around in their seats,
Wallace continued, "What he said was, 'The point I was making was not
that my [grandmother] harbors any racial animosity--she doesn't--but
she is a typical white person...,'" which is where you generally have
clipped it."
