Temperature Trends 1990-2007: Hansen, IPCC, Obs
Posted to Author: Pielke Jr., R. | Climate Change | Prediction and
Forecasting | Scientific Assessments
The figure below shows linear trends in temperature for Jim Hansen's
three 1988 scenarios (in shades of blue), for the IPCC predictions
issued in 1990, 1995, 2001, 2007 (in shades of green), and for four
sets of observations (in shades of brown). I choose the period
1990-2007 because this is the period of overlap for all of the
predictions (except IPCC 2007, which starts in 2000).
Looking just at these measures of central tendency (i.e., no formal
consideration of uncertainties) it seems clear that:
1. Trends in all of Hansen's scenarios are above IPCC 1995, 2001, and
2007, as well as three of the four surface observations.
2. The outlier on surface observations, and the one consistent with
Hansen's Scenarios A and B is the NASA dataset overseen by Jim Hansen.
Whatever the explanation for this, good scientific practice would have
forecasting and data collection used to verify those forecasts
conducted by completely separate groups.

Take your pick because you can't have both.
As we are increasingly aware, handing your security over to government
is a dangerous thing to do because government never controls itself.
It forever seeks to gain total control and power over everything.
This simple rule has been seen throughout history, and unfortunately,
it is still true of our state, national and local governments.
Can you think up a reason why our founding fathers spent so much time
and effort on producing a Bill of Rights and Constitution?
Maybe they were closer to the fire than we are today. Maybe they
lived through exposure to Big Government and all its tyrannical ways.
Maybe we had better wake up before we are so secure, we have no
freedom left.

There is every appearance that the massive fraud and corruption that IS
the RepubliKKKan party will not survive in government past the election.
The fact that the Saudi's just told Bush to go Fuck himeslf - again -
after the worm came crawling to them begging for higher oil production,
doesn't help their case.
The time is right to Impeach the Fucker in the White House, and let the
RepubliKKKans vote their support for the Failure and Chief all the way to
their bitter end.

News On 6 Investigates: Department Of Human Services Under Fire
http://www.newson6.com/Global/story.asp?S=8300687&nav=menu682_2
So many people have complained about the Oklahoma Department of Human
Services over the years, DHS may as well be a four-letter word. But now
the Department of Human Services is facing more than just complaints.
It's the target of a federal lawsuit filed on behalf of the 10,000
children in its foster care system.
News On 6 anchor Scott Thompson says a News on 6 Investigation uncovers
why the lawsuit could signal the end of DHS as we know it.
"School just became my outlet, and I just used school as my outlet so
that I wouldn't always be fighting and not getting along with my foster
parents and stuff," said former foster child Sasha Gray.
If DHS's foster care system is broken, Sasha Gray would know. Sossha
spent 14 years in the custody of the Oklahoma Department of Human
Services. She says DHS moved her 42 times, leaving her with 17
different foster families along the way. Her younger sister and two
younger brothers are still in the system.

Even Hillary said, "if you can't stand the heat get out of the
kitchen". Obama is embarrassing himself by being so thin skinned. On
the one hand he complains when ever he is criticized, but has no
problem dishing the dirt. The guy strikes me as being exceptionally
weak.

Boy, 13, held in foster sister's stabbing
http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080516/NEWS02/805160498
Police arrested a 13-year-old boy this morning after he allegedly
stabbed his foster sister with a kitchen knife on the Northeastside.
The boy stabbed Anastasyia Jacobs, 19, while she was sleeping with her
2-year-old son in an upstairs bedroom in a home in the 6000 block of
East 43rd Street at about 8:10 a.m., Sgt. Matthew Mount said.
Mount said the foster mother told police the boy came downstairs naked,
sat in her lap and said "I killed Anastasyia."
Moments later, Mount said Jacobs came downstairs bleeding from several
stab wounds. The 2-year-old also suffered a small wound to his right
leg, Mount said.
The suspect was taken to the Marion County juvenile center, Mount said.
Police did not release his name this morning. The boy had been in state
custody for about eight years and had lived with this family for five
months, Mount said.
Jacobs and her son were taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital where they
were listed in stable condition this morning, Mount said.
Call Star reporter Vic Ryckaert at (317) 444-2761.
