Ex-aide rebuts Libby on leak, Fleischer contradicts claim in perjury trial

Author: Liman Jig Tacker
Date: Jan 30, 2007 06:23

WASHINGTON -- Former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer testified Monday
that he learned the identity of a CIA operative from vice presidential aide
Lewis "Scooter" Libby over a lunch in the White House mess on July 7,
2003--three days before Libby has said he first heard about Valerie Plame.

Oops, lying to an FBI agent is illegal Scooter!

My Six Months On Right Wing Blogs.
by Maccabee
Sun Jan 28, 2007 at 08:13:44 AM PST

I spent 6 months lurking on right wing blogs (RWB). From May 2006 to
November 2006, I read every post I could on ten blogs I visited. I
registered with each under one alternet identity, and in the six
months, only posted 73 comments. My goal was simply to observe. I
monitored opinions on major topics and reactions to them.

These were the sites.

Veterans target Iraq troop buildup

Coleman among senators being pressured

BY PATRICK CONDON
Associated Press

A group of Iraq War veterans is launching a national TV ad campaign
arguing that politicians who fail to oppose a troop buildup in Iraq
"don't support the troops."

VoteVets.org, a political group that supported candidates in last
fall's election critical of President Bush's Iraq policy, is now
targeting Republican U.S. senators who have expressed concern over the
administration's plan to send 21,500 more troops to Baghdad and Anbar
Province — but who aren't supporting a nonbinding Senate resolution
opposing the buildup.

A very loud, unattractive, mean-acting woman walks into Wal-Mart with
her two kids in tow, screaming obscenities at them all the way through
the entrance.

The Wal-Mart Greeter says, "Good morning and welcome to Wal-Mart. Nice
children you've got there - are they twins?"

The ugly woman stops screaming long enough to say, "Hell no they ain't
twins. The oldest one, he's 9 and the younger one, she's 7. Why the
hell would you think they're twins? Do you really think they look
alike?"

"No", replies the greeter, "I just couldn't believe you got laid
twice!"

Iraq's Missing Billions

Exposed: How American Contractors With The Help Of U.S. Government Raped
Iraq

Dispatches/GuardianFilms

Dr Ali Fadhil, a 29 year old Iraqi doctor, investigates what has happened to
billions of dollars worth of Iraqi money which was put into the care of the
US led coalition to be spent for the benefit of Iraqi people on the
reconstruction of their country. He uncovers a shocking story of fraud,
incompetence and corruption, unscrupulous foreign contractors who made
millions from dodgy contracts, and literally billions of dollars which
cannot be properly accounted for.

In Veep's world, we're safer than we were before Iraq

By Carl Hiaasen

The wacky, upside-down world of Dick Cheney keeps getting weirder.

Last week he went on CNN and defiantly declared that the situation in
Iraq is not so terrible.

This must have been surprising to the families of the 88 Iraqi
civilians who were slaughtered the day before by car bombers at a busy
Baghdad market.

Surprising to the loved ones and comrades of the 27 American troops
who died last weekend, one of the costliest for coalition forces since
the occupation.

Surprising to Lt. Gen. David Petraeus, soon to be commander of U.S.
forces in Iraq, who two days earlier had informed a Senate panel that
the situation there was "dire."

Surprising to Sen. John Warner and other top Republicans who have
warned that Iraq is sliding into chaos, and have publicly questioned
the decision to send more troops.
