So the $350 million Arabic TV station aimed to win hearts and minds
flopped badly.
Let's see how Bush and the dishonest Republicans fucked this one up

[A] succession of executives who either had little experience in
television or could not speak Arabic.
===================================
But hey, look on the bright side! All those Republican "executives"
got paid hansomly for fucking up!

Yep, another case of the IOKIYAR
http://www.politico.com/blogs/jonathanmartin/0608/DNC_to_again_file_suit_on_McCains_matching_funds...
The DNC will today announce that they intend to file a lawsuit
next week in U.S. District Court to spur an FEC inquiry over whether
John McCain illegally withdrew from the federal financing system.
The committee first issued a complaint to the FEC in February, but
In April a federal judge ruled that, even though the FEC lacked a
quorom, they still could convene before the end of the 120 days
they're given to examine complaints.
Now, with those 120 days expiring on June 24th, the DNC is acting
again in hopes a judge will compel the FEC to act on their complaint,
as is allowed by law.
At issue is whether McCain locked himself into spending limits in
the primary by putting up anticipated matching funds as collateral for
the loan that helped keep his underfunded campaign alive at the end of
2007.

http://thinkprogress.org/2008/06/21/gitmo-report-scalia/
A new report from the Seton Hall University School of Law explodes the
myth that some 30 detainees released from Guantanamo Bay prison have
returned to the battlefield against American forces.
This conservative urban legend was recently parroted by Supreme Court
Justice Antonin Scalia in his dissent from the Courts Boumediene
decision. Scalia wrote that granting habeas corpus rights to Gitmo
detainees will almost certainly cause more Americans to be killed,
and supported this view by asserting that at least 30 of those
prisoners hitherto released from Guantanamo Bay have returned to the
battlefield.
The new Seton Hall report (pdf) states that Justice Scalias claim of
30 recidivist detainees is belied by all reliable data :

"But I'm not for, quote, "privatizing" Social Security. I never have

-John McCain, last week
"Without privatization, I don't see how you can possibly, over time,
make sure that young Americans are able to receive Social Security
benefits.

Yep, that vaunted Bobby Heishman Republican family value
http://www.cantonrep.com/index.php?ID=392587&Category=13&subCategoryID
The state champion girls volleyball team of Mercy High School in
Cincinnati was in the Senate chamber recently to receive a resolution
recognizing their accomplishment.
They had gathered around State Sen. Eric Kearney, D-Cincinnati,
causing fellow Sen. Steve Stivers, R-Columbus, to comment that Kearney
"attracts all the attractive women."
Reminded that he had just returned from his honeymoon after
marrying the former Karen Tabor two weeks earlier, Stivers
backpedaled.
"Im allowed to window shop, just not buy," he said.
Tabor, the spokesperson for House Speaker Jon Husted, R-Kettering,
confirmed her husbands shopping rules, but said they might be worth a
review.

http://thinkprogress.org/2008/06/14/mccain-cancels-event-with-fundraiser-who-compared.../
[John McCain fundraiser] Clayton Williams stirred controversy during
his 1990 campaign for governor of Texas with a botched attempt at
humor in which he compared rape to weather. Within earshot of a
reporter, Williams said: "As long as its inevitable, you might as
well lie back and enjoy it."
...
McCains campaign spokesman said he wasnt sure what the senator would
be doing with the more than $300,000 brought into the campaign by
Williams.
