The RAF dropped, I forget exactly, maybe 3 times the tonnage of bombs in the
European theatre compared to the USAAF. Not least because the British Lancaster
bomber had massively more bomb carrying capacity ( 10 tons by the end of the war
) than US B-17s.
The RAF and British scientists also developed all the high accuracy radio /
radar aids required for precision bombing. See Oboe, GEE, H2S and the
'Pathfinders'.
We Brits also developed the first 'bunker-buster' bombs too. Like Tallboy.

Thank you Barnes Wallis. He designed those Dambuster bombs too btw. And the ones
that were used on the Tirpitz.
Not to mention IFF too. And the escort fighters ( the Mustang / P51 was a design
for the British Air Ministry ) with their high performance and long range -
Rolls-Royce Merlin engines in place of the American Allisons and the drop tanks
were both RAF initiatives.
