N.M. Court Refuses Obscene Name Change

SANTA FE, N.M., Jun. 28, 2008(AP) A New Mexico appeals court on Friday
ruled against a Los Alamos man who wanted to change his name to a phrase
containing a popular four-letter obscenity.

The man appealed after a state district judge in Bernalillo County
refused his request to change his name to "F--- Censorship!"

Judge Nan Nash ruled that the proposed name change was "obscene,
offensive and would not comport with common decency."

The man _ whose current legal name is Variable _ argued on appeal that
it was improper government censorship to deny him the name change.

"We do not believe that the district court's action infringes on
petitioner's right to free speech," a three-judge panel of the Court of
Appeals said in its ruling.

The man has the right to call himself whatever he wants, unless there's
fraud or misrepresentation involved, the judges said.

Building on Minnesota roots: a cooperative response to hard times
By Lee Egerstrom, Minnesota 2020
June 25, 2008

With the U.S. and Minnesota economies in a tailspin, standing still
means falling farther behind. Recognizing that the status quo won’t do,
more and more Minnesotans are rolling up their sleeves and rediscovering
what has always been a source of Minnesota strength – cooperation.

In turn, Minnesota is rediscovering economic development tools that are
150 years old.

This renewed interest in cooperatives is in keeping with Minnesota’s
frontier history of the past century. Minnesota has consistently led the
nation in the number of cooperative businesses incorporated and
operating in the state, said Amy Fredregill, vice president of the
Minnesota Association of Cooperatives. The number of such businesses
hovers above 1,000 as mergers and consolidations offset the number of
startups most years, she said.

  Morgellon's Disease - Transhumanism Experimentation

Morgellon's Disease - Transhumanism Experimentation

Everything I've seen of this phenomenon points in the direction that
this is a transhumanism experiment.

It seems to be the introduction of relatively simple cyborgs into
human organisms in the hopes of creating an integration of the simple
cyborgs with humans.

Despite the fact that the introduced cyborgs are unlike naturally-
occurring foreign bodies or organisms, the human body does attempt to
reject and dispel them.

But it is not completely successful in doing so. The cyborgs exist as
parasites in the body and replicate. When I say they are relatively
simple, I mean in relation to the human organism. The cyborg parasites
are anything but simple in an absolute sense. They appear to possess
intelligence of one another that is far beyond that of naturally-
occurring parasites. They not only recognize one another, they appear
to cooperate with one another.

The effects on the victims are absolutely devastating.

My guess is that they are trying to create a cyborg that the body will
not be able to dispel and will integrate and live symbiotically with.

MSNBC appears to be a politically motivated organization -it cancelled
Phil Donahue because he had too many "liberal" guests and not enough
bigots like Jonah Goldberg.

Pretty sad state of media affairs, don't you think?

Sharp Attack Unwarranted
by Stephen Zunes
Salem-News.com

As a result of the U.S. invasion of Iraq and the Bush administration’s
open advocacy for “regime change,” any American group or individual who
provides educational resources on strategic nonviolence to civil society
organizations or human rights activists in foreign countries has
suddenly become suspect of being an agent of U.S. imperialism -- even
Gene Sharp and the Albert Einstein Institution.

http://www.aeinstein.org/

(SAN FRANCISCO) -- Gene Sharp, an 80-year-old scholar of strategic
nonviolent action and veteran of radical pacifist causes, is under
attack by a number of foreign governments that claim that he and his
small research institute are key players in a Bush administration plot
against them.

Our Infantile Search for Heroic Leaders
by Johann Hari

Do you find yourself staring at the television and pining for a good
leader — a person who will rise and make the world right again? Do you
long for a Mandela, a Churchill, a Gandhi? Then grow up. Our political
debate — what passes for it — increasingly focuses on a search for an
elusive Messianic leader who will show us the way. This is the opposite
of rational politics.

The Timely Death of Genius --Tim Russert and George Carlin

Author: tobetbaa
Date: Jun 26, 2008 06:16

Lunatics are beginning to blame Hillary Clinton for the death of Tim
Russert. It's a red flag when lunatics begin to blame suspicious death
on the "Clintonistas" because it means the fix is in. The death of
George Carlin, who was also a target of self-righteous lunatics,
should have raised its own flag, but we like to accept what we are
told.

The publicized cause of George Carlin's death -heart failure is a
generic term -it describes the "cause" of every death -even if the
fragile old man was smothered to death with a pillow, it would be
called "heart failure". "Oh nurse, Dr. Death is checking Carlin's
pulse."

Carlin's death is suspicious because he was under assault by the the
likes of right wing fanatics like O'reilly, who violently blasted
Carlin for suggesting that the United States is responsible for 9/11.
(in fact, Carlin merely said 'you reap what you sow') God Help Carlin
if he dared to expres his own opinion.

Legal challenge is in line with plans to disrupt GOP convention
By KATHERINE KERSTEN
Star Tribune
June 24, 2008

Elaborate plans are underway to encircle and "shut down" the Republican
National Convention at St. Paul's Xcel Energy Center in September. The
strategies and tactics involved could come straight from a guerrilla
warfare manual.
[But in fact those that Kersten actually mentions are just non-violent
civil disobedience of the sort Gandhi and Martin Luther King advocated
and used.--DC]
