FF Google search bar sends me to www.google.es

Author: AndyHancock

I'm in Canada, I use Windows 2000 professional, FF 2.0.0.14. Any help
on how to figure out the toolbar version would be appreciated.

The closest thing I can find on the subject line is:
http://groups.google.ca/group/alt.fan.mozilla/browse_frm/thread/813f7...
http://groups.google.ca/group/FFToolbar-Group-Bugs/browse_frm/thread/...

The first one mentions \searchplugins, which might contain www.google.com/search.
I found "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins", but the only
google-like files is google.xml. A case-insensitive word search for
"es" or "ca" doesn't find anything.

Thanks for any further steps I can take!

P.S. Manually cross-posted to "Something's Broken" group of
"GoogleToolbar Firefox Help" community,

I'm not sure what version of the Googlebar you're using, but on mine, at
the far left, is a G which allows for selection of "Googlebar options". On
the "Google Searches" tab the country of search can be selected. See if
you can find this option and give it a try.

It's the default google toolbar that comes with FF 2.0.0.14. I
haven't found a way to determine the version. No googlebar options
when clicking on the G to the left, but there is a list of alternate
search engines to use (not that I want to, though I'm sure that
they're quite decent for those who are accustomed to them). Thanks
anyway.
