And as for Elvirus ... that sophisticated
molecular
structure modeling
means nothing. And who cares about a "bromine spike". That means
nothing..
unless it interacts by intercolating in the oxidized (damaged) portions
of
DNA where the deoxyribose sugars have been halogenated by bromine... but
then it would take lots longer to work. And why are they calling it a
virus? Viruses are packets of DNA that only work at the cellular level.
This is science mumbo jumbo. So, is it a nerve gas? Or is it a virus?
We'll just take it as LFN canon and move on.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
cin, I couldn't wait to hear what your comments would be on this,
chem-girl. haha so, ya mean there's no such thing as KH-S05 that combines
chemically with elvirus to produce a nerve gas??? The writers disappoint
me!

Ops make the point of saying here:
"And, the fact that our government was in possession of this material is
a
blatant violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention."
Our government? Hm... It's interesting that (I think it is) in Innocent,
we find out that Section may not be in North America. And anyway, Section
isn't
supposed to belong to any one government. So, what's "our government"?
This is obviously before they decided Section was in France.

good catch. At this point, the writers didn't know where they were going,
or even where the characters were.

I brought this up in the Mother thread, but Michael asks if Nik has made
friends. This is out of context of the show's history at episode six. I
think Love should be the third
episode - Nikita, Charity, Love, then probably Friend, maybe Mother, then
Simone? Or maybe Charity, Friend, Love, Mother/Simone? Any comments?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I agree. I'd choose the second option. For one thing, Nik seemed closer
to her old street personality in Love (even though it's in keeping with
the Sage role), like the scene where she pulls the gun on Peter and Sage
in the car and says, Weapons, please. Very early Nikita. By Mother she is
much more polished and already acting more mature, I think.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
And in a nice and seamless expository part, Walter informs us that
Section
frowns on fraternizing.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.
I liked the first scene with Walter. BTW, when does Walter stop acting
like a dirty old man with Nik? I will have to notice that in coming eps.
There are three classic lines in this episode, "Walter, there's no W in
menage a trois"; "Michael, do you mind, we are having a moment",(where M
smiles his wan Mona Lisa semi-smile that is sort of vampire-creepy); and
"Just do the job", the precursor to the later, "You don't have to like the
job...."
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
In Maddie's lair, we find out that M&N have to play monogamous
mercenaries
(bwahahaha!), at least "until Death do they part." But this was a great
set
of lines - about having to love, honor, and obey... "Jus'.... obey."
Bwahahaha!
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.
This may not have been a quality LFN episode, but I have to admit I loved
the fun-fantasy stuff in this one. Like you, cin, I didn't see this part
of the ep until I had seen the entire series(I came in at the dance scene
at Bauer's), so it was fun to go back and see the young Nik eager to play
let's pretend we're married with M.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.
I will say that Canada ... I mean Bauer's residence... in the fall is
lovely! It makes me so homesick for New England.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Yeah, I liked the way a lot of the outside shoots were done either in
autumn (the Looking for M arc, and this ep) or had winter snow scenes.
Very pretty and a nice change from the dreariness of Section.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
So, what's with Nik's hair? Sage didn't have black, short hair? This is
singlehandedly the worst wig in all of LFN.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Yeah, why would they take a chance of blowing their cover in case Phiger
had mentioned to Bauer that Sage was blonde. Well, women do dye their
hair, but still...seems so unlike Section to not be cautious with detail.
What cracked me up was when Bauer comes into the bedroom after the
explosion and Nik has her own hair---did you notice she had two little
barrettes holding her bangs back? Yeah, like she pulled the wig off and
her hair was like that. Make-up probably had Peta's hair covered with a
rubber cap to hold all that hair down under the little black wig.So, to
think she pulled the wig off and her hair was like that was funny. Then I
noticed that after she hurriedly dressed for the train station, upon
arrival there she has a different hair style with bangs. So, was she
re-doing her hair in the Hum-V on the way?
In other fashion related issues, I noticed that on her first trip to
Bauer's she was wearing a black leather jacket with a black Addidas- like
jacket and white shirt underneath. Then when she was outside with M when
he told her to 'do the job', she was wearing a denim jacket. Ok, fine.
Then she was wearing the leather again to go on the job with Bauer. Then
back at the house, it's the white shirt, but when they go to the train
station she's wearing the jean jacket again. So, in my female mind, I
just had to wonder, was the jacket just lying there from when she and M
unpacked in that room, or, (as I would do), did she ponder the most
appropriate look for the fashionable spy girl to wear to be the center of
a major scene in a train station? Did she opt for the slightly more
conservative grunge look of denim over the punk/biker look of leather to
have more cred with the innocents she was trying to protect? Did she feel
the leather had required the black wig to really pull the whole look
together, hence the switch to denim? And--did the clothing change require a
change of earrings? teehee
Weren't the socks a great touch? Ladies, you know we all wear socks to bed
on those chilly Autumn nights, so the striptease with socks on-haha. I give
points to the writers for a touch of humorous realism.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.
But Michael... now... as far as mission get-ups go... this is by far one
of
his best outfits... (stop laughing!)
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Laugh? No!
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Bauer and his two goons walk into the De Anza building in what looks like
(now) to be quite the Matrix scene. Really. You should compare this
scene
when Neo and Trinity et al walk into that building and have to walk
through
the metal detectors.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
You have great visual perception and memory. All I notice is denim,
leather and socks.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Outside, "Sage" - protector of innocence and innocents - calls "Peter"
Michael at least twice. Hope nobody else heard!
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Yeah, I was thinking with all the commotion that went on, I can't believe
Bauer didn't figure out Nik was there trying to save people.

(of course the bio-haz mask won't really help if the
Elvirus is indeed transdermal... but...)

heh heh 'nother little technical error there.

Act 3:
This is the first LFN moment I ever saw. The Butchers speech.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.
Congrats on the moment. I think a lot of us remember our first moment we
were Nikita-ed.(Sounds like one of Petrosian's words) Nikited? LFNed?
Whatever. A special moment.
Will continue with more comments later.
