Jefferson was a Christian. Jefferson just fought for your right to be
what you wanted without the government telling you what it wants you
to be. Dangerous Christians often act like God isn't doing a good
enough job, so they have to do his work.

Reply: One of my Bro-in-law's jobs aboard ship in Viet Nam was to
fire up the troops by reading and discussing certain parts of the
Bible
before a battle or mission to be done the next day. I guess the US
gov'ment found it a useful tool.
What I don't understand is how our ancestors justified going into
a foreign land and claim it as their own. We know by what means
they "claimed" them. Regarding the Americas, we had no "history" with
them. There was no "cause" to fight for. It was an accident we were
there in the first place. Yet, with Bible in hand, we claimed it as
our own.
