Back in Dec. 2006 IGN Movies reported a RUMOR that Sam Raimi had
picked up movie rights for multiple Street & Smith pulp characters and
was working on a 'team-up' movie.

A week later official news came along through multiple movie news
sites [including Variety and The Hollywood Reporter] that seemingly
clarified the earlier rumor. Specifially, Sam Raimi had picked up the
movie rights for the Shadow and was working on a movie based on the
character. [Sam Raimi has the movie rights, he's just working with
Sony to make the movie]

Now, it kinda got lost in the shuffle of news about a new Shadow
movie - but Harry Knowles commented on IGN's rumor on Dec. 6th [the
same day IGN posted it]. In his comments, Knowles noted his surprise
