As his week-long foreign trip concludes, Sen. Barack Obama appears to
be coming around to the Bush Administration's, and Sen. John McCain's
position on troop withdrawals from Iraq. Obama, who has been promising
to end the war as his first act in office if elected, said for the

ago seemed lost.

Limited, sometimes sharp fighting and periodic terrorist bombings in
Iraq are likely to continue, possibly for years. But the Iraqi

Obama Fails the “Quayle Test”, Pretty Much Daily

Knowing that Presidents are limited to two, four-year terms, is
mandatory, basic knowledge that should be, and usually is, second
nature to every single reasonably educated American. Everybody
knows this. Children know this. ... Yet, this kind of thing
happens a lot with him, oddly enough. [...]

This is my proposed Quayle Test. Ask yourself: How each time Obama
says something stoopid, would the press would have crucified Dan
Quayle for it?

Erm, except that Obama is not a member of the Senate Banking
Committee. Either he does not know on which committees he
serves, or he is knowingly taking credit for efforts in which he did
not participate. Neither speaks well of his 'judgment.'

Of course, if McCain had made such a blunder, the usual suspects
from the left would trumpet it far and wide; but the media won't
report this gaffe either.

Vice Presidential candidate Sen. John Edwards was caught visiting his
mistress and secret love child at 2:40 this morning in a Los Angeles
hotel by the NATIONAL ENQUIRER.

The married ex-senator from North Carolina - whose wife Elizabeth
continues to battle cancer -- met with his mistress, blonde divorcée
Rielle Hunter, at the Beverly Hilton on Monday night, July 21 - and

Forty journalists, including such leading correspondents as Dan Balz
of The Washington Post, will be aboard his plane for next week's swing
through Jordan, Israel, Germany, France and England.

The campaign received 200 requests for press seats on the plane.

Among those for whom there was no room was Ryan Lizza, Washington
correspondent of The New Yorker. The campaign, which was furious about
the magazine's satirical cover this week, cited space constraints in
turning him away.
