So, I have seen three movies recently:
There Will Be Blood
No Country For Old Men
The Orphanage
Of the three, I liked The Orphanage quite a lot more than the others,
largely because the endings of the others bothered me. I won't post
spoilers here, but sheesh.
Anyone else seen any of these three? Feel free to ROT 13 any
comments, I'd be interested to hear what other people who have seen
them thought.

I recently saw _No Country For Old Men_. I liked it, but understand that
some viewers had difficulty understanding the end(s). Perhaps it helps to
think of the movie in terms of Western movies.

(spoiler)
I'm not sure what's to explain. The bad guy is tougher and faster and
just as smart as and more ruthless than anyone else, and despite a few
misfortunes, he gets away with everything. Everyone who seriously tries
to thwart him gets kilt and so do a bunch of other people.

Leroy, and I would say I found the ending to Gone Baby Gone to be
entirely unsatisfying.

I agree on Iron Man, a very well done movie. Speed Racer was pretty
good. After the Goodman/Ninja fight, my son said with enthuiasm "That
was the best fight I ever saw!".

And that is also faithful to the book.
