A Religious Plot Uncovered

Author: Charles Bishop

I have the plot for my next Eco or Brown thriller. It's nascent at
present, but fortutious circumstances have given me the kernel.

I was driving down Divisadero toward Fell and wondering how I was going to
solve the latest case. Metal thieves were walking off with most metals
that weren't secured and sometimes even those that were. I'd been hired to
find out who and also to find a way to secure the metal parts that were
bought as replacements. I had time to think since traffic was moving
slowly and I was in the wrong lane since it turned into a left hand turn
lane ahead. There was little chance to change lanes so I accepted my fate
and was musing on the new case.

Up ahead was a Popeye's fried chicken . If I could have pulled over I
thought about going in for lunch and waiting out the traffic. I eyed the
lane on my right but it was full, and while it was moving faster than
mine, the cars were spaced too closely together to try to change. Back to
musing. Except that now, stolen metals had been pushed aside by the
thought of Popeye's chicken for a late lunch.

In the Loomis version of the "Brown" myth, the Templars would owe the
Catholic Church billions of dollars.
