  Exasperating Firefox (for Mac) Quirk

Author: Brettster
Date: May 11, 2008 21:53

I am using Firefox v.2.0.0.6 for Macintosh OS v.10.4.11.

Under certain circumstances, it's behaving in a way that's driving me
nuts. Problem is, I can never predict what the circumstances are.

Here's what it's doing. Sometimes, when I have two browser windows
open, I need to move one out of the way, to the other side of the
screen. I'll move my cursor to the grey "window bar" at the top of
browser #1, click and hold, then drag it out of the way. When I find
the right place for it, I'll release the mouse...and the window
automatically snaps back to browser #2, as if by magnetic force,
perfectly overlapping #2 so I can no longer see it.

The problem is, it doesn't happen all the time. It seems to behave
that way in a completely arbitrary manner. It does seem to occur only
when I grab the left-hand side of the window bar, never the right. But
it doesn't ALWAYS happen. I've checked all through the Firefox
preferences, and there doesn't seem to be any box to uncheck that
would alter this behavior.

Won't you shed some light on this for me? Why is this happening, how
can I fix it, and why would anybody would WANT to align windows this
way? Thanks!

This is who I think would be the smart picks for the candidates, not whom I
support necessarily.

Obama: Richardson. Part of the reason Obama has the nomination is Hillary's
baggage. Picking her would cut into one his of his main selling points
(i.e. not being Hillary). But he needs some of her base. Richardson gets a
big part that easily could go Republican.

McCain: Santorum. Okay two main problems for McCain. The thought that this
geezer is croakers and the nutcase right, worried that McCain is not so
crazy as they are. Santorum: young enough not to croak and nuts as any
rightwing wet dream (but below the radar of most swing voters).

  Whole milk substitute

I want to make some Mexican candy (recipe below) that calls for 1/4 cup
whole milk. We don't buy whole milk. What happens if I use 1%% milk?
Would it work but not be as rich, or would it be a disaster. If the
latter, I'll just use 1/8 cup evaporated milk and 1/8 cup water.

Jamoncillo (Dulce de Leche) recipe

1 cup whole pecans
1/4 cup whole milk
1 cup sweetened condensed milk

Line a pie pan with wax paper.

In a blender, mix whole milk for 2 minutes. Over medium heat, boil the
sweetened condensed milk, stirring constantly. Once it starts boiling,
remove from the heat and add the milk from the blender. Mix well.
Continue mixing and then pour into prepared pie pan. Garnish with whole
pecans. Let cool before cutting into squares or desired shape.

  'Types' of Motherhood

Author: Mardon

Today being Mothers' Day and all, I got to wondering what the record is for
the most types of motherhood that can be claimed by a single individual?
In our family it belongs to my mother-in-law. She is:

A mother
A grandmother
A great grandmother
A mother-in-law
A God mother
A step grandmother

I'm sure there are people who can claim more than 6 types of motherhood.
Anyone?

  Find me the adjective

That describes the song The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia.

It's not overwrought, exactly. It's not mawkish. What is it? It's the
same adjective that describes One Tin Soldier.

And that's one body that'll never be found
'Cause little sister don't miss when she aims her gun.
