Fatal Fire Kills Five in Quincy
Five children are dead and four other people are injured after an early
morning fire on Quincy's north side.
Police say the blaze at 428 North 7th about 3 a.m. Rescuers arrived to find
the home engulfed in flames and later discovered the five bodies inside.
The four boys and one girl -- aged eight months to ten years old -- were
likely family members. Adams County coroner Gary Hamilton says autopsies
will be conducted.
Three people were taken to a nearby hospital, and a firefighter suffered
burns to his face.
The conditions of the other three victims and their ages were not
immediately available.
State and local fire officials are investigating the cause.
