Fire rips through apartment home to college students

BOSTON -- An apartment inferno forced many college students out of their
homes on Friday.

The 2-alarm fire engulfed an apartment building on Louis Prang Street.

The fire was sparked by a surge protector on the second floor. The device is
supposed to protect from fires.

Students from a number of area colleges, who rent off campus, were shaken by
the fire that destroyed everything they own.

Even though the intensity of the flames and heat in the brick building was
tough to fight, no one was injured, just devastated by the loss.

Colleges have provided a place to stay for the displaced students.
