New Year's Day and the day after, the overnight low was below
zero. By the 6th it was 60 F out and raining, and on the 7th it was 63
and we had an F3 tornado only a couple of miles from me. Now, it's
been at the freezing mark and below again and snowing lightly at night
for the last 2 nights. Geese have been circling the area in flocks of
many hundreds, perhaps as many as a thousand when flocks merge; they
appear confused, circling and just sort of hanging around. Weird.
I'm going out to light up a spliff and just circle around town.
Maybe I'll honk too.

And over here on the east coast it's been very warm. We had about 1
week of cold weather. We have been in light or no coats most of the
winter. Have been sitting out on the deck in shirtsleeves. One day...

Now things are back to normal for the time of year. It is 19
out with occasional snow and by Saturday it will be below zero. I
think this year we will get a lot more cold before the winter is over.
Early February has been known to throw some arctic weather our way.

Reminds me of a movie I seen here on cable... forgot the name, some
end-o-the-world situation where the world enters an ice age in a week
or something. Liked it actually. Love them types of end-of-the-world-
and-LOTS-of-people-are-gone kind of an earths revenge thing.
Just got back online with a new pooter doing a much better job than my
8 year old p3 was doig before she popped a motherboard.
Maybe the poles were wobbling and the geese got all messed up???
Wierd.

It's 10F out right now with fairly high winds and the
little bit of snow we got is blowing and drifting. Tomorrow night and
Saturday night will both be below zero again. Typical January weather
has returned!
