With all of the recent rain, where I live is all but under
water. The house is still livable but there is water in the basement
and more rain coming. Two pumps going full time and water is still
rising down there. Outside, everything smells like a wet dog or
decaying plant matter or some combination of both, with maybe a little
sewer backup tossed in for good measure. Roads are flooded and closed,
my fulltime job is being threatened with flooding too.
There is a mostly stationary high pressure center south
southeast of here and all of the moisture from the gulf is being
pulled up along the western edge of it and right overhead, bringing
rain day after day after day; we have gone from drought to flood in
just a few weeks.
Don't look for me for a little while, I am going...

Hi BudBurner! Gosh, I hope the weather (everywhere) changes . . . here
in L.A. it's been in the 90's during the day & 70's or less at night.
Hot days/cool nghts = ugh! Occational humidity, too. Blaaa. Not
really great for plants ( of any kind)- at the moment.

Yeah, it's been quite bad but there are folks lots worse off
than I am. More than a few people in town who had never had water in
their more shallow basements got their finished basements ruined...
