It hit just over 80 today and, true to form, a funnel
cloud got reported near Rockford and there was a severe thunderstorm
warning issued as soon as I got out of work. I ended up driving home
and following the exact path this thunderstorm took, so I got pelted
with pea sized hail all the way home from work tonight and watched
lightning hitting all around me, fence posts and electric poles and
just stuff nearby that somehow attracted lightning. It looked like the
end of the friggin' world with the lightning and hail and I was
smoking a small doob of AK47 as I drove home because no cop in the
world is going to pull someone over in this chaos. I must say even
Pink Floyd didn't put on the kind of light show I drove home through,
lightning of every color of the rainbow.
Storm is over, it's only 70, but look out tomorrow because
the whole weekend is going to be thunderstorms and then the
temperatures (and that infamous humidity) go up to the near 90's. Ugh.
