I thought Afghanica was considered a "hybrid" of Sativa & Indica??? Not
a strain on it's own.

How about the flavors; like Pinnaple, Grape, Blueberry, etc.?

Just like now, there's: Skunk, Kush, White, Orange, Red, Purple (maybe
Lavender & Blue, too?), I think.

So did I at one time. Afghanica is just one strain in the
Afghani line-up. Bud for hash has been grown and cultivated in
Afghanistan and handed down for generations. The genetics of the
Afghani strains is so set in and stable that at some point it became a
separate set of genetic characteristics.
As if this isn't confusing enough, all herb from India was
once called Indica (INDIan CAnnabis), even some that were Sativas.
Sativas are known for their long slender leaves, that no pure Indicas
or Afghanis have. Fortunately we have folks like Ed Rosenthal, DJ
Short, Jason King, Kyle Cushman, Jorge Cervantes and many others to
help us keep it straight!

Home grown strains tend to be so much stronger than
purchased pot, so you probably won't get to the point of not getting
higher, because all you need to do is switch strains for a day or two
and that is the end of any "tolerance" issues. A double benefit; you
get more stoned from your herb so it lasts far longer, and you smoke
far less so your lungs barely notice it. And, there are some pretty
good vaporizers out there that are even less likely to cause lung
irritation.
Mushrooms really don't interest me, or any other
hallucinogenics. I did plenty of those things when I was a teen back
in the late 60's and early 70's, along with far too many other things.
I too had a long hiatus from any drugs while I pursued my career and
then when things permitted I again took up pipe...

BTW, BB, Do you have books by all these guys you listed??? Seems Ed
Rosenthal's are more technical (a bit complicated) and Jorge Cervante's
are nicer (with photos & info. that's understandable). DJ Short's seem
to be a lot of words/chapters with little photos and a few drawings.
Whch one (book) did you like the most?

Hi BudBurner, Yesterday, I was looking at the New Jorge Cervantes book
on MJ Horticulture, and HE lists only 3 strains; Sativa, Indica &
Ruderalis!!! I believe Afghani & Afghanica are considered Indica & an
Indica Hybrid.

Home-Grown "GanJa" is good, because it's Organicly grown, whereas some
that's purchased is either grown outdoors or indoors (or hydro.) with
pestisides or chemicals! Think about this. My 2¢ here.
