New York Diesel

This strain is good but it's not the same NY Diesel as I got
from Jack H. This has none of that pungent flavor and aroma of the
real 'Diesel. It *is* really potent, but there is far more of an
Indica influence in this strain. The flavor is much more subtle and a
bit more of a grape/berry taste. The smoke is thick and expands in the
lung a bit, almost to the point of making me cough because I wasn't
expecting it. This is probably due to the amount of sticky resin in
this bud. It's powerful but a bit of a letdown compared to the first
'Diesel beans from Jack.
In summary, it definitely gets you buzzed but it is not the
real deal nor would I call it "connoiseur cannabis". No big deal, I'm
still happy with 2 out of 3 so far.

Well, So far you've tried 3 strains! I'm guessing you like: 1. Cannalope
Hase, 2. Cinderella 99, & 3. NYD in that order??? What about the BD or
BD x HP??? I forgot IF you rated/reviewed those.

I haven't grown out the BD X HP yet, and it will be another
almost 3 months before the BD is ready because it didn't go into jars
until early April.
So far, that would be the order although I probably won't grow
out the 'Diesel again unless I can get some beans from the same
genetics Jack had there about 3 years ago. My last strain is Afghanica
and I only have maybe a half ounce, but I am going to wait until I
have finished up those 2 Afg buds I havee stashed in the freezer first
before I open the jar. So, that's it for smoke reporst for a while
until the other grow session's byd gets it's 6 months in. :-)

I'll have to plant a Cannalope Hase (I have 2 beans) to see how it is,
at some point in the nearby future! 8-)

BuZZard, That's a great idea for a cross (wonder IF anyone's done it
already?)! I have a gram of "L.A. Confidential", but haven't tried it
yet (I was told it's strong stuff) . . . as I've been way too busy with
taking care of stuff here at home! Damn, they've decided to paint the
apt building, now, so I've had to figure out how to bring into my apt.
my 11 plants that're about 3 months old or more and still growing!!!
UGH! The plants have that odor already, too . . . . now inside my
place!! I think they're all females, too! Tried to pollinate 2 (w/N.L.
& AK-47), but I don't think it took - don't see seed pods, yet! May
have done it too early or too late or the pollen expired!

Hmmm, Just thought of a good name for that strain: East/West! or ES/WS
(East-Side, West-Side).

OK, I'm revisiting the New York Diesel to see what I think of
it when smoked over a couple of days. Well, it absolutely is not the
flavorful pungent aroma of Jack's beans but it really *does* kick you
in the skull. The flavor is not at all that great but the bud seems to
be very dry. Hopefully there are better tastier buds in there but all
this has going for it is a really potent head stone. I rate flavor and
the overall "joy of toking" just as important as the stone itself.
Just looked at the Black Domina jar and the label says it was
jarred April 11th. So, come October the lid comes off of the jar!

Yep, waaayyy too much Indica in this to be real NYCD. I slept
the whole night through and felt great this morning. My usual partial
one-hitter Sativa smoke in the morning got me lots more buzzed than
usual; I think I was still stoned from last night. This is far more
like Northern Lights.
