Two postrcripts.

A few years ago I was selected for a trial and sent into a court
room. The judge explained that the trial would take six to eight weeks
and told us that those who could do it could leave while those who could
not had to stay.
He then left the bench, took off his robe, sat a table one talked to
us one at a time. I told him I had two issues- I worked mainly on
commission and could not afford the loss and I was going east for a
wedding in two weeks. He said he did not want to case me to lose income
or miss the wedding and asked if I would be willing to do a one or two
day trial. I told him I was. I was sent home at the end of the day with
no trial but his handling of things impressed me enough to write him a
letter.
A few years ago I was called to federal jury duty but was not gives a
trial. I only know one person here who ever got that call the reason
being it is such a larger jury pool.
