EAST ST. LOUIS, Illinois (AP) -- A woman accused of killing a pregnant woman
and her fetus told police she drowned the woman's three young children and
stuffed them into a washer and dryer at their apartment, an official said
Sunday.
Preliminary autopsies on the dead children Sunday appear to show they were
drowned, Ace Hart, a deputy St. Clair County coroner, told The Associated
Press.

EPPING, N.H. - An Epping woman who apparently was depressed drowned her
daughter before committing suicide by hanging herself, authorities said
Monday.
The terse announcement of the autopsy results for Tonya Neihart, 32, and
Alexa Neihart, 6, made no mention of possible motive.
"Alexa was drowned in the bathtub and ... Tonya went downstairs and hanged
herself in the garage," Assistant Attorney General Karen Huntress told
reporters.

NJ Teacher Accused of Having Sex with Student
PERTH AMOBOY, N.J. -- Officials are accusing a female teacher at a Perth
Amboy middle school of having sex with a 13-year-old boy.
Amy Burke is suspended with pay from her job teaching physical education and
health at McGinnis Middle School. The 32-year-old is married and has a
3-year-old son.
Middlesex County prosecutors say the relationship with the student began in
March and continued at least through the summer.
School officials say another student learned of the relationship and told
his parents. They notified the schooland the school called police.
Burke is charged with aggravated sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual
contact, endangering the welfare of a child and official misconduct.

Suffolk Police: Who Grabbed, Taped 10-year-old Girl?
HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. -- A 10-year-old girl out riding her bicycle was snatched by
a man on Thursday, stuffed into a car, bound with tape and driven around
before being dumped on a street, police said.
The girl suffered a cut on her leg when the man pulled her off her bike near
her home but was otherwise physically uninjured, Suffolk County police said.
No weapon was shown, and it didn't appear the girl was sexually assaulted,
they said.
``The subject came up, took her off her bicycle and brought her to a
vehicle,'' Detective Lt. Gerard Pelkofsky said. ``She was duct-taped and
bound.''
The man drove her around her neighborhood briefly before throwing her out of
his car, police said.
The girl, wrapped in tape and crying, ran to the closest home and called for
help. The man drove off.

Roberts, 32, a local non-Amish milk truck driver, attacked the one-room
schoolhouse at Nickel Mines, a farming community in Lancaster County about
60 miles (100 km) west of Philadelphia.
He allowed boys and adults to leave and then tied the legs of the girls
before shooting them execution-style, police said.
Four of the girls including Marian Fisher were buried on Thursday and a
fifth funeral was scheduled for Friday.
The Amish, descendants of Swiss-German settlers, are a traditionalist

Oct. 6, 2006 - It was the eve of his wedding, he was preparing to host a
dinner party for 100--and Perry Myers's bride to be had gone missing.
Julianna Redd, 21, was supposed to have spent the day shopping with her
parents near Provo, Utah, but by late afternoon Myers, 23, still hadn't
heard from her or them. Frantically, Myers tells NEWSWEEK, he and others
began phoning relatives. One call convinced Myers "that her physical
well-being was actually in danger," and that's when he called the cops.
