The Iconic George Carlin passed away at about 6pm (PST) today after
complaining of chest pains at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica (he
had a history of heart problems) this afternoon. BTW, it's been very
hot, the last few days, in L.A.!

George Carlin:
I love words. I thank you for hearing my words.
I want to tell you something about words that I think is important.
They're my work, they're my play, they're my passion.

Real loss. The only good thing is there are now several comics that
*can* do his sort of standup. No I am *not* talking about Chris Rock and

Thanks for posting Mr. Carlin's routine = it's "classic", even now! He
will be missed! R.I.P. George Carlin.

Yeah, Carlin DID open up the comic/stand-up standards for others! Lenny
Bruce & "Lord" Buckley also were inovative in their time, too!

George paved the way for so many, like Dick Gregory, Richard
Pryor, Eddie Murphy. Heh, I loved Richard Prior's skit about Bill
Cosby calling him up and ragging on Pryor for saying fuck so many
times in his comedy skits. "Have a Coke and a smile and shut the fuck
up!"! Rofl!
My favorite Carlin was "Toledo Windowbox", all about drugs.
Of course. :-)
