>Has anyone ever heard of Weidman Beer?
You mean Wiedemann's Beer? It's mostly only known in the midwest (it's brewed
in Kentucky, I believe.)
>Stroh's?
Another midwest beer with a distinctly sulphurous odor. That was mostly what
we drank when I was in high school.
>What is the most obscure beer you ever drank?
Old Frothingslosh.
>Anybody ever drank BLATZ.
That was my dad's beer.
>No shit. It tasted better in the can than the bottle. Blatz in the can
>was awesome; Blatz in the bottle didn't taste as good. It was cheap and
>all we could afford when we were in college. We even drank Little Kings
>Cream Ale. What a nasty brew!!!
Don't dis Schoenling Little Kings! That's one of the better midwestern brews.

Budweiser is the biggest brewer in the world. They sell more beer than
anyone else by a considerable margin. I think the conglomerate that
owns Miller's is second. What makes Bud so popular among all of the
Beers in the world? Has anyone ever heard of Weidman Beer? Stroh's?
What is the most obscure beer you ever drank? Anybody ever drank BLATZ.
No shit. It tasted better in the can than the bottle. Blatz in the can
was awesome; Blatz in the bottle didn't taste as good. It was cheap and
all we could afford when we were in college. We even drank Little Kings
Cream Ale. What a nasty brew!!! We even used to drink Gambrinus Beer. I
read in the paper that Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer is making a huge
comeback. You gotta be kidding!! They sell it for 50 cents a glass at
the local college bar in Palo Alto...

Back on subject, Sprecher Beer from Milwalkee is really good. Mad
River Brewery, Blue Lake Cal.. Amber Ale is spectacular. Humbolt
Brewery's Oatmeal Stout is to die for. And Anchor Steam. All are
American Beers and all meet or beat the best European Beers I've had.

Sorry for the departure. Yeah we got some great American beers but, I
can't believe that common old Bud is the leader, by a big margin. It is
kind of sad because everywhere I travel I see the same stuff.
McDonald's, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Budweiser etc... Nothing unique. The
same novelty shops, stores, Kentucky fried chicken, Pepsi etc... The
stores look the same. The weather is not as good as home. The museums
are interesting and the architecture is unique in some places but
somehow something is missing. The Europeans are the master brewers of
the world. They invented it. They perfected the brewing process and yet
the world drinks Bud. Great I can get a Big Mac, a Pizza Hut and drink
a bud in Russia. My friends got back from Russia a couple of months
ago. She said the old parts of the different towns were wonderful but
the new parts looked like a cheap imitation of a mixed up American
city. No individually at all. Cheap and tacky. Get ready world,
Wal-Mart is coming your way. Prague is supposed to be beautiful. I want
to see that city next year before it gets messed up. The city is being
Americanized and soon it will be just another boring imitation city
unless they can find a way to preserve it. Everybody wants to buy cheap
crap from the local wal-mart. What is sad is that my grandchildren will
see the world become a homogenous society with no individuality because ...
