LT,
I'm not sure where you live (and I'm not asking) so I'm not sure if this
advise will provide you any insight. Basically, I recommend placing the
mother plant somewhere outside of the grow room, preferably in a bedroom
with blinds where one can regulate the amount of light and treat it like a
houseplant. Keep it trimmed (at least once a week) using sterile razor
trimmers and make sure you don't allow pests (including pets) anywhere near
the plant.
Just treat it like any other normal house plant and limit the amount of
light it receives as to mimic 'fall' or 'winter'.
I hope this helps (maybe a little?)
