NorCal School Teaches How To Grow Marijuana

You know you're in a different kind of college when a teaching assistant
sets five marijuana plants down in the middle of a lab and no one blinks a
bloodshot eye.

Welcome to Oaksterdam University, a new trade school where "higher
education" takes on a whole new meaning.

The school prepares people for jobs in California's thriving medical
marijuana industry.

For $200 and the cost of two required textbooks, students learn how to
cultivate and cook with cannabis, study which strains of pot are best for
certain ailments, and are instructed in the legalities of a business that is
against the law in the eyes of the federal government.

The only prerequisite for the course is a Politics/Legal Issues 101 class.

"My basic idea is to try to professionalize the industry and have it taken
seriously as a real industry, just like beer and distilling hard alcohol,"
said Richard Lee, 45, an activist and pot-dispensary owner who founded the
school in a downtown storefront last fall.

Any recommended powdered alternatives to GH nutes?

I love the General Hydroponics Flora series, but it comes wet, and really
heavy. Shipping costs are too high. Has anyone used a dry product that is
as good as Gen Hydro? I see some available, but I'm afraid to try them
without some references.

With the Gen Hydro Flora series, I've been able to forget about pH and
over-fertilizing worries. I even threw away my pH meter! So any good
powdered alternative needs to act the same way, with lots of pH buffers,
etc.

Thanks for any answers! :-)

greetings!

i found,

you better be paying attention 2 those seeds soaked in the sensitizing
stuff they use. i still whacked down the worst 200 8) i wish,... it was
only 2, but its a good smoke anywayz, so i think from now on, i'll just
cut the male parts off {OUCH:}
i really want to keep a couple around for goodness sake!!

i had heard they weren't 100%%, but they aren't even close. i don't mind
looking them over, heck, 4 me thats part of the enjoyment 8)

i know, clones are the way, but i'm not stationary enough 2 even think
it, so, for me it was the way to go, & i'd do it again. NOT having 2
deal with any1 is the best 2.

then theres the wonderful, homegrown aroma, that smells like burning
tires, but, gotta do it! fortunately i have something thats better 4 the
earlier, most part of the day, i had forgotten how the homegrown do
wreak!

thanx 4 the advice earlier!

later!

i started my crop last year.. and boy.. did i love it..
i loved it so much.. and toiled over it from the day the
beans opened.. on march 20th of last year.
Then.. came September 18. the beans had grown to
7 feet tall.
Outside of my kid snipping a few small buds from time to time.. there was
not one problem.
Then.. the neighbor kid came along..and took about a quarter oz of the
bud... and got caught by his mom... and when asked where he got it. he
pointed over the privacy fence.. to the cola buds sticking well over the top
of the 6 foot fence.
I came home late that night.. to find my plants inside... and i ask.. wtf?
then i was told
I had planned on leaving them out until november.. then stick them in a
cardboard box.. and stick the box up in the attick to forget about.. and
cure.
but.. it had to be done different... the cops were threatened to be called..
yeah... not fun.
me with two 7 foot giants.. but not ripe at all...
I mean.. i wont be able to do that this year... no way.. ...
