get weighed after taking a leak !!!

Regardless of dietry fads, putting on weight means taking in more than you
burn off
The calorie is a unit of energy
You can take in these calories in any form, although the mix clearly effects
health (balanced diet)

You could take your 2100 calories (woman) in beer, butter, crisps,
whatever...stick to that number and you wouldnt gain weight

So, one pint of beer has around 180 calories....it is impossible to gain a
pound in weight just by having one beer...unless the fluids still inside you
(1 pound = 3500 calories)

One 25 ml spirit has about 50 calories, so 3.5 shorts = 1 pint of beer, in
calorific terms.

Usually, peoples alcohol intake is at the end of the day, when they have had
most of their calories anyway, so six beers will mean 1100 excess
calories....3 x that = a pound weight gain.
Most people then have a burger, kebab, or tasty snack of some type, so you
can see how weight creeps on over time.

Its possible to drink, quite a bit sometimes, and keep in shape.

I lost 3 stones in weight in the early 90's and its still off. I just keep
an eye on the calories (its second nature now) and include the beer/scotch
etc.
