  Special scotch for Cabin

Author: hoover
Date: Jan 19, 2008 10:21

I'm heading out to a friends cabin for in March for some skiing and
relaxing and I was wondering what to bring out there. I want it to be
a nicer bottle. I think his favourite is Lagavulin 16, but he also
liked Talisker and a few other, lighter malts and blends. Any
suggestions. I was thinking an older Caol Ila.

Your Local Single Malt hangout ?

Author: Paul L
Date: Jan 18, 2008 14:58

I rarely go out these days (the chain reaches barely
to the end of the driveway) but on that rare occasion
we in Denver, Colorado are lucky to have Pints Pub.

http://www.pintspub.com/whisky.html
go to the pic on the bottom of the page to
get a pic of some of their SMS

They claim to have the largest selection of single
malt in the US, with 260 expressions from 120+
distillers. Its great fun to pore through their
inch think menu of drams ... each entry carries
(someones) description of the offering. Last
week we stopped by for a dram and I ordered
a new one for me that sounded lovely. It
is now a new favorite of mine ... Bowmore
Darkest. I know some of us here don't care
for a sherry finish on an Islay malt, but for me
it tames what can, for my taste, be the "in
your face" factor that some Islays bring.

On 2008-01-17, Jim (aka Bruce)

Thanks Jim! That cleared it up then!
