I have bad teeth too, lots of cavities and crowns. You lose your teeth from
gum disease which can be prevented by regular cleanings by a dentist.

I am one of the exceptions to that. Great, healthy gums, but my teeth
were rotten. Lots of fillings and crowns as well.

Me too. I had very bad dental care as a child. But my grown up kids all
have great teeth. They had Fluoride treatments when they were kids.

I don't use any toothpaste, just water and a plain brush. I hate the taste
of toothpaste and when I told the dentist that it was a demotivating factor
for me he said you really don't need toothpaste. I haven't had any cavities
since I started eating low carb four years ago. I have never had much in
the way of deposits which require cleaning, I think that is genetic.

Sadly - for several of the older folks I know - that has not been
the good answer.

From what I hear, they seldom fit right, and are seldom comfortable. They
also need to be relined from time to time because ones gums change shape and
then they shift around and chafe.

I am one who has dentures. I can eat most of the things that I did
before, but it takes me a little longer to chew. I relined them
myself from some stuff that I ordered from a catalog that specializes
in stuff for teeth and other things. I had good gums so that isn't a
problem. I can recommend dentures and Fixodent for those who must
lose their teeth, and it is genetic. My parents were both in dentures
by age 40. My kids have good teeth because of Flouride in the water
since they were born.
