WHOLE GRAIN CHIPPERS
1 c margarine, solftened
2/3 c white sugar
1 c lt.brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1 teas baking soda
1 teas vanilla
pinch of salt
1 c whole wheat flour
1 c all-purpose flour
2 c rolled oats, uncooked
1 12-oz pkg. chocolate chips
1 c sunflower seeds
Preheat oven to 375. Lightly grease cookie sheets or cover with
parchment paper.
Set aside.
Cream butter with sugars and eggs until light and fluffy. Beat in
baking soda,
vanilla and salt. Blend in flours and oats to make a stiff batter. Stir in
chocolate
chips. Shape rounded spoonfuls of dough into ball shape. Roll in sunflower
seeds.
Place 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheets.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until firm. Do not overbake. Cool for 2
minutes, then
move to cooling racks.
